A comprehensive guide for authors navigating the JMIS editorial process. It explains the EIC-led, double-anonymized review structure, detailing how to interpret critical feedback related to identification, construct validity, and scope. This resource helps set realistic expectations regarding submission posture, revision strategies, and expected timelines, helping authors differentiate fatal framing issues from fixable evidence gaps.

A comprehensive preflight checklist for authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS). This guide details crucial steps for successful submission, including full double-blind anonymization techniques, specific formatting rules (≤50 pages, ≤150-word abstract), numbered referencing style, and the unique EIC email intake process. It ensures the manuscript package meets all requirements for initial double-blind review.

A comprehensive style guide for polishing academic manuscripts intended for the Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS). It guides authors on structuring the introduction to immediately highlight the IS-management contribution, crafting a concise, citation-free abstract (under 150 words), maintaining the visibility of both the IT artifact and managerial implications, and adhering to numbered citation styles.

A comprehensive guide for authors managing a Revise-and-Resubmit (R&R) from the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). It outlines how to systematically address dual concerns—research rigor (statistics, identification, replication) and theoretical substance (contribution)—while crafting a point-by-point response letter. It emphasizes using the Web Appendix to manage new analyses without exceeding the page limit.

A guide for authors submitting to top-tier management journals (like JMS). It teaches how to crystallize raw research findings into a single, powerful, one-sentence theoretical contribution claim. This framework ensures the paper clearly defines what theoretical conversation it engages, what prior understanding it revises, and under what scope conditions, moving beyond simple results reporting.

A comprehensive guide for positioning academic contributions within journals like the Journal of Management Studies (JMS). It teaches authors to frame their work not as filling a 'gap,' but as resolving a theoretical 'tension' or advancing a specific theoretical conversation. The guide outlines key contribution archetypes (Extend, Challenge, Reconcile, Bridge) and best practices for making a rigorous, argument-driven case in the literature review.

A comprehensive guide for drafting scholarly rebuttal letters following journal review rounds (R&R). It teaches how to structure point-by-point responses, strategically address reviewer disagreements, re-sharpen the theoretical contribution, and maintain a collegial, rigorous tone to convince the handling editor of the manuscript's significant improvement.

A comprehensive guide for authors needing to understand the academic publishing lifecycle, specifically for the Journal of Management Studies (JMS). Use this before submitting via ScholarOne to ensure your manuscript meets the journal's high standards.

This guide offers comprehensive structural and stylistic improvements for scholarly manuscripts intended for top-tier journals. It transforms descriptive reports into theory-forward, argumentative papers, ensuring adherence to rigorous academic conventions, such as Harvard referencing, concise abstract drafting, and clearly articulating the core theoretical contribution.

This guide helps researchers determine if their manuscript is suitable for highly quantitative, theory-driven journals. It emphasizes evaluating the core deliverable—whether it consists of a formal model, provable properties, and an algorithm, rather than relying solely on empirical data or policy recommendations. Essential for optimizing journal submission strategy.
