A comprehensive preflight checklist for submitting manuscripts to The Review of Economic Studies (REStud). It guides researchers through critical steps, including ensuring double-anonymity, adhering to Harvard author-date referencing, managing the length limit (~45 pages), and preparing supplementary online appendices. This tool ensures all academic formatting and procedural requirements are met before the final submission.

This skill polishes the prose and structure of advanced academic manuscripts for top-tier journals. It focuses on enhancing clarity, conciseness, and logical flow, especially optimizing the introduction and abstract to ensure the core research contribution is immediately evident and highly readable, without altering the original results or economic models.

This guide provides a structured methodology for articulating the core contribution of an accounting research paper, particularly for academic journals like RAST. It teaches authors how to move beyond merely listing methods or results, instead crafting a single, sharp, defensible sentence that specifies the accounting construct, the effect, the underlying mechanism, and the resulting implication for standard-setters, investors, or theory. Use this when your findings are compelling but the 'so what' is unclear.

This guide teaches authors how to frame their academic research by joining a specific, established 'accounting conversation' rather than claiming to fill an unstudied 'gap.' It provides a structured approach to identifying key frontier works, articulating the paper's precise marginal contribution (the 'marginal move'), and strategically justifying why the paper belongs in a specific journal, such as RAST, over its academic siblings.

This guide helps authors set accurate expectations for academic paper submissions, particularly within fast-paced, first-round decision venues like RAST. It details the double-blind review process, how to interpret terse decisions, and guides strategic decisions regarding paper readiness, conference vs. regular track selection, and comparing different sibling journals.

This guide helps authors polish the prose and structure of academic accounting manuscripts, particularly for top-tier journal submissions. It emphasizes front-loading the contribution in the introduction, crafting a high-impact abstract, and adopting an active, authoritative 'house voice' that guides the reader immediately to the core finding and its implication.

This tool guides the transformation of a coded, screened corpus into a robust analytical spine for academic synthesis. It moves beyond simple annotated bibliography summaries by requiring the construction of a conceptual framework (e.g., taxonomy, theoretical model, tensions). This structure ensures the review advances theory or policy, providing a coherent, critical argument for the field.

A comprehensive guide for authors revising academic manuscripts following peer review decisions (major/minor revision). It teaches how to triage complex reviewer comments, restructure the literature search, strengthen analysis robustness, and draft a professional, point-by-point response letter to maximize acceptance chances.

A comprehensive guide for authors transitioning from summarizing individual studies to synthesizing knowledge across a field. It teaches the critical, integrative voice required for publishing high-impact reviews, covering structure (Introduction Arc), methodology (APA 7), and critical argumentation (Synthesis vs. Summary). Essential for systematic literature reviews.

This skill provides a comprehensive guide for authors submitting manuscripts to elite economics journals, such as Review of Economic Studies. It assesses the paper's fit by evaluating novelty, theoretical rigor, methodological sophistication, and adherence to modern academic standards, helping authors strategically position their work and decide on the best target venue.

This skill acts as a specialized guide for researchers submitting applied econometrics or empirical economics manuscripts. It helps authors assess the suitability of their work for the Review of Economics and Statistics (REStat) venue. It emphasizes framing the contribution around careful identification, robust measurement, and clean design, rather than general interest, providing crucial pre-submission self-checks and identifying potential desk-reject risks.

This skill is a comprehensive fit and venue-selection tool designed for authors targeting top-tier finance journals, such as Review of Finance. It helps authors assess whether their manuscript meets the journal's rigorous standards across scope, methodology, evidence, and structure. Use it to re-frame your work, check for potential desk-reject risks, and identify suitable alternative elite-field venues before submission.
