This guide provides a rigorous framework for researchers to determine if their work constitutes a genuine health-economics contribution for a specialized journal like JHE. It moves beyond simply having health data, instead focusing on whether the core economic mechanism relates to insurance design, provider incentives, market structure, or health behaviors. It helps refine the research question and position the paper against other related fields.

This tool guides researchers on whether their academic topic aligns with the scope of an empirical microeconomics journal, specifically the Journal of Human Resources (JHR). It emphasizes that the research must focus on policy-relevant, causal questions in core fields (e.g., labor, health, education), strictly differentiating it from purely organizational behavior or 'HR management' studies. It serves as a critical gatekeeper before formal submission.

This guide provides a rigorous methodological checklist for conducting data analysis suitable for top-tier academic journals, such as JMIS. It covers advanced techniques across econometrics (addressing identification and endogeneity), behavioral modeling (SEM/PLS, common-method bias), and ML/analytics, ensuring that research findings meet the highest standards of robustness and theoretical grounding.

A comprehensive guide for developing and defending research methodologies for top-tier academic journals, such as the Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS). It details how to properly design studies—whether they involve econometrics, behavioral experiments, or design-science artifacts—to establish credible causal identification and meet scholarly rigor, while adhering to strict manuscript length limits.

This comprehensive guide helps researchers move beyond descriptive correlations to build rigorous, theory-driven manuscripts for top-tier IS journals. It outlines how to structure theoretical arguments based on specific research styles, including IT business value mechanisms, platform economics, behavioral models, and economic incentives, emphasizing the derivation of hypotheses and comparative statics before empirical testing.

This skill guides authors on structuring the contribution of their marketing research manuscript, particularly for submission to the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). It emphasizes meeting JMR's dual requirement: clearly stating both the novel substantive/theoretical insight and the methodological credibility/advance. It provides genre-specific advice for behavioral, econometric, and methods papers to ensure the argument is rigorous and impactful.

This guide assists researchers in aligning their study design—whether behavioral (lab/field experiments) or modeling-econometric (IV/DiD/RDD)—with the rigorous standards required by the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). It covers best practices for causal identification, power analysis, structural estimation, and meeting journal-level expectations like replication and Web Appendix planning.

A comprehensive guide for building robust, testable theoretical frameworks for submissions to the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). It distinguishes between deriving behavioral mechanisms (mediators, processes) and specifying structural/econometric primitives and identification arguments, ensuring the research contribution meets academic rigor.

A guide for integrating behavioral theory into rigorous empirical studies. It outlines the necessary steps to move beyond descriptive findings of irrationality by constructing a statistically identifiable behavioral model (e.g., incorporating loss aversion parameters) and testing it against rational baselines using controlled, incentive-compatible experimental designs. Essential for submitting papers requiring model explanation of behavioral biases.

This guide helps researchers select and defend the appropriate empirical methodology for Operations Management (OM) studies. It covers diverse design types—including surveys, archival data analysis, behavioral experiments, field studies, and intervention-based research—ensuring the design is observation-grounded, matches the operational claim, and anticipates rigorous methodological checks.

This skill guides authors to evaluate if their consumer behavior manuscript meets the high theoretical and methodological standards of the Journal of Consumer Research (JCR). It focuses on assessing the theoretical contribution, the necessity of multi-study process evidence (mediation/moderation), and adherence to academic publishing best practices, helping authors refine their framing and anticipate desk-reject risks before submission. Note: This is a guide, not a substitute for official submission guidelines.

A specialized tool for researchers aiming to publish in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization (JEBO). It helps authors assess the suitability of their behavioral, institutional, or organizational economics manuscript by analyzing the journal's scope, methodological bar, required evidence, and formatting standards. It serves as a pre-submission re-framing and checklist mechanism.
