Comprehensive patterns and best practices for deploying and managing microservices using the Linkerd service mesh on Kubernetes. Covers automatic mTLS, sophisticated traffic splitting for canary deployments, setting Service Profiles for enhanced resilience (retries/timeouts), and defining robust authorization policies.

This tool deploys decoy canary files in critical system directories to provide early warning against ransomware attacks. Utilizing Python's watchdog library, it monitors for any read, modify, rename, or delete operations on these decoy files. Detection triggers immediate alerts via multiple channels (Email, Slack, Syslog), helping security teams identify and respond to malicious activity before full data encryption occurs. It serves as a crucial detection layer in a layered security defense.

This guide details the deployment of deception technologies, including canary files and honeypot shares, to detect ransomware activity at its earliest stages. It outlines configuring file integrity monitoring (FIM) and using specialized tokens to trigger alerts when ransomware attempts encryption or performs lateral movement, significantly enhancing security posture beyond standard EDR.

This skill outlines the architecture and methodology for deploying canary files (honeytokens) across critical file systems. By placing decoy documents with known content in high-value locations, this system monitors for unauthorized modifications, deletions, or encryption attempts. It detects ransomware by triggering high-fidelity alerts via File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) systems, serving as a crucial deception layer that complements existing EDR/AV solutions.

This skill guides the deployment of decoy files, or "canary tokens," across critical file systems. These files act as tripwires, monitoring for unauthorized changes (modification, deletion, renaming). By tracking these high-value decoys, systems can detect ransomware encryption activity in real-time, providing a low false-positive, high-fidelity detection layer that complements traditional EDR and backup solutions.

A comprehensive guide to deploying decoy artifacts, such as fake credentials, URLs, and files, called honeytokens or canarytokens. These tokens have no legitimate operational use; therefore, any interaction with them provides a high-fidelity, low-false-positive signal of an intrusion, data theft, or insider threat. Use this technique to enhance detection in low-telemetry areas like file shares or credential stores.

This skill covers production patterns for Linkerd, a lightweight security-first service mesh for Kubernetes. It includes setup instructions, namespace injection, service profiles for retries/timeouts, traffic splits for canary deployments, server authorization policies, and multi-cluster configurations. Ideal for DevOps engineers managing microservices security and traffic management.
