This guide assists researchers in drafting a highly structured and scope-specific cover letter for journal submissions, particularly targeting publications like Field Crops Research. It emphasizes establishing clear scope fit (field-based, multi-environment), articulating the novel quantitative contribution, and confirming essential submission declarations (originality, data availability). Using this skill ensures the letter meets the stringent requirements necessary to pass the initial editor scope check and improve acceptance rates.

Provides rigorous guidance and structure for statistical analysis in Field Crops Research (FCR). Focuses on implementing linear mixed models that respect complex experimental designs (e.g., split-plot, block, environment). Essential for proper G×E analysis, robust means separation, and accurate evaluation of crop models, ensuring results are methodologically sound and actionable.

Provides comprehensive guidelines for field crops researchers submitting manuscripts. The policy mandates reporting deep agronomic context (soil, weather, management, design) and requires authors to prepare a detailed data-availability statement. It ensures the reproducibility and structural completeness of research findings, while also covering guidelines for co-submission and AI use declaration.

This skill provides a deep dive into the rigorous multi-stage review process for scientific manuscripts, particularly in field crops. It details editor scope screening, the single-anonymized expert review, and the specific criteria required (e.g., multi-environment data, statistical rigor, general relevance) to prevent desk rejection. Use this knowledge before submission to stress-test your manuscript, anticipate reviewer objections, and structure your findings for maximum scientific impact.

This comprehensive preflight checklist guides authors through the final review process before submitting manuscripts to Field Crops Research (FCR). It ensures adherence to strict journal requirements, covering scope confirmation, formatting rules (abstract word count, highlights structure), comprehensive reporting (weather vs. phenology, statistics), and mandatory declarations (data availability, AI use). Use this guide to minimize rejection risk and streamline the submission process.

This skill helps researchers pressure-test their agronomy or crop-science project against the strict criteria of specialized journals, such as FCR (Field Crops Research). It guides users to ensure their work is field-based, multi-season/multi-environment, focuses on true field crops, and holds general scientific significance, preventing premature rejection.

This skill serves as the central orchestrator for Field Crops Research (FCR) manuscripts. It guides researchers through the entire writing lifecycle by first enforcing a critical 'scope gate' (checking for field-based, multi-environment relevance). It then intelligently routes the user based on the project stage, article type (e.g., Original Research, Review, Opinion), and necessary steps, ensuring the manuscript is scientifically viable before any content drafting begins.

This skill provides a comprehensive fit and structural review tool for manuscripts targeting 'Field Crops Research.' It assesses whether an agronomy or crop-physiology paper meets the journal's high standard: rigorous, adequately replicated, multi-environment field experimentation. It guides authors on key topics like resource-use efficiency, crop modeling validation, and required methodological depth (e.g., mixed models, full metadata reporting).
