Skill UI

This skill guides users on whether their international economics manuscript fits the scope, theoretical depth, and methodological requirements of the International Economic Review. It analyzes the journal's focus (global governance, open policies), required evidence (FDI, GVC, cross-country data), and common submission pitfalls, helping authors improve manuscript structure and increase acceptance chances.

This guide assists in elevating isolated findings into generalizable theories of international politics. It provides a structured framework for building arguments—whether empirical, formal, or constructivist—by explicitly defining core international mechanisms, scope conditions, and testable observable implications, ensuring the theory's portability across different global cases and institutions.

This comprehensive framework guides financial researchers in structuring high-quality literature reviews for academic manuscripts. It moves beyond mere citation listing by enforcing a three-part narrative structure: tracing the global theoretical and mechanistic origins, contextualizing the discussion within local Chinese institutional settings, and precisely defining the novel contribution (the research gap). Mastering this process ensures a deep, scholarly dialogue between international theory and local empirical evidence.

A comprehensive guide for establishing rigorous causal claims in international macro-finance. This skill addresses complex econometric challenges such as global confounders, policy endogeneity, and high-frequency surprises in open-economy models. It provides methodologies for cross-country panel data, capital control analysis, and advanced inference, ensuring results meet the high standards of top-tier international finance journals.

This skill helps researchers anticipate and pre-empt predictable objections from international finance referees, particularly for submissions to journals like JIMF. It guides authors on strengthening the paper's international scope, improving causal identification against global confounders, and ensuring robustness to standard field checks (e.g., global crises, US-centricity) *before* submission. It is a proactive checklist for optimizing manuscript quality.

Provides a comprehensive guide for structuring the robustness section of international macro-finance papers, specifically tailored for JIMF submissions. It maps empirical checks to named international-finance threats (e.g., US-centrism, global episodes, regime dependence) to ensure results are stable and credible. Covers advanced econometric techniques like Driscoll–Kraay and time fixed effects.

This comprehensive skill provides a detailed guide and heuristic checklist for authors targeting the Journal of International Trade. It helps users evaluate their manuscript's fit across multiple dimensions, including open economy focus, empirical methodology, global value chain analysis, and trade policy relevance. It serves as a crucial pre-submission tool to optimize structure and increase the chances of acceptance in top international economics journals.

This guide provides comprehensive submission guidelines for the Journal of World Economy, focusing on open-economy macroeconomics, international trade, and global finance. It emphasizes aligning research with an international perspective, covering topics like FDI, trade regimes, and global value chains, ensuring submissions address the transmission channels of external shocks.

This guide provides essential knowledge for selecting and defending data sources for advanced research in international economics. It emphasizes the critical need for data to possess a 'global attribute,' covering trade flows, Global Value Chains (GVC), and cross-country comparisons. Key data types include micro-level customs data (firm-product-destination), cross-country panels (WDI, IMF), and global input-output tables (WIOD/ADB MRIO) for GVC decomposition.

A comprehensive guide designed to help researchers rigorously assess whether their academic manuscript’s core causality relies on international or open-economy dimensions. It provides clear criteria and decision trees to determine if a paper is genuinely suited for top-tier world economy journals, or if it should be redirected to specialized domestic economics publications.

This guide provides a highly structured framework for writing literature reviews for top international economics journals. It emphasizes moving beyond merely listing localized findings, focusing instead on establishing a clear dialogue with global academic classics, frontier research (e.g., GVC, global finance), and defining the paper's unique marginal contribution within the international academic lineage.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to top-tier journals, detailing how to structure policy implication sections for open economies. It emphasizes shifting the focus from generic domestic policy lists to specific, evidence-based recommendations concerning international mechanisms such as trade tariffs, exchange rate elasticity, capital account management, and global value chains (GVCs).
