A comprehensive guide to deploying and configuring Suricata as a high-performance Intrusion Detection System (IDS) or Intrusion Prevention System (IPS). This skill covers setting up multi-threaded packet processing for high-throughput links, enabling protocol-aware inspection (HTTP, TLS, DNS, SMB), generating structured EVE JSON logs for SIEM ingestion, and integrating advanced signature and anomaly detection capabilities.

Deploy Zeek for passive network analysis to generate structured logs (DNS, HTTP, etc.). This tool detects behavioral anomalies like DNS tunneling or beaconing, complementing traditional signature-based IDS tools. It is ideal for threat hunting and incident response, feeding rich protocol metadata into SIEM platforms.

A detailed guide for conducting authorized penetration tests to detect and exploit HTTP request smuggling flaws. This technique targets discrepancies in Content-Length and Transfer-Encoding parsing between front-end proxies (like CDNs or load balancers) and back-end servers, allowing attackers to bypass security controls and hijack subsequent requests.

A comprehensive guide for authorized penetration testers on identifying and exploiting insecure deserialization vulnerabilities across multiple languages (Java, PHP, Python, .NET). Covers techniques for generating payloads using tools like ysoserial and phpggc, and testing various application components such as cookies, HTTP parameters, and message queues to achieve potential Remote Code Execution (RCE).

This skill provides comprehensive methods to detect Cobalt Strike beacon command-and-control (C2) traffic. It uses advanced network forensics techniques, including analyzing default TLS certificates (e.g., serial 8BB00EE), JA3/JA3S fingerprints, HTTP malleable profiles, and beacon interval jitter, leveraging Zeek logs, Suricata rules, and Python PCAP analysis. It is essential for threat hunters and SOC analysts investigating sophisticated C2 communications.

This skill detects command-and-control (C2) traffic hidden using domain fronting techniques. It analyzes proxy and web gateway logs by comparing discrepancies between the TLS SNI field and the HTTP Host header. By inspecting these mismatches and correlating them with known CDN provider properties, it helps security analysts hunt for sophisticated network evasion tactics.

This guide provides a structured methodology for hypothesis-driven threat hunting focused on detecting web shell deployment (T1505.003) on internet-facing servers. It analyzes file creation in web directories, suspicious child-process generation from web server processes, and anomalous HTTP request patterns. Use this during incident response, proactive security assessments, or when EDR/SIEM alerts indicate web server process anomalies.

Details how to implement robust API rate limiting and throttling using advanced techniques like Token Bucket, Sliding Window, and Fixed Window algorithms. Supports per-user, per-IP, and per-endpoint quotas, utilizing Redis for distributed counting. Essential for protecting APIs against brute force, credential stuffing, and resource exhaustion attacks, returning proper HTTP 429 responses.

A comprehensive guide for intercepting and analyzing HTTP/HTTPS traffic from mobile applications using Burp Suite. This skill walks through configuring proxies on Android and iOS, handling CA certificate installation, and executing advanced penetration testing techniques. It is essential for assessing API security, identifying data leakage, and finding authentication vulnerabilities in mobile client-server communications.

A comprehensive security assessment guide and script to test API rate limit vulnerabilities. It evaluates if an API's security controls can be bypassed using advanced techniques such as IP spoofing (manipulating X-Forwarded-For headers), HTTP method variations, and endpoint path traversal. Designed for penetration testing, it helps assess resilience against brute-force or resource exhaustion attacks, aligning with OWASP API Top 10 findings.

This skill details how to execute HTTP Parameter Pollution (HPP) attacks. HPP exploits differences in how web applications and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) process duplicate parameters within a single request (e.g., query strings or POST bodies). It is crucial for penetration testing to bypass input validation, WAF rules, and uncover parameter parsing inconsistencies in APIs and web forms.

This skill provides advanced techniques for bypassing SSL/TLS certificate pinning in Android and iOS applications. It supports interception of HTTPS traffic during authorized security assessments, covering pinning mechanisms like OkHttp, TrustManager, NSURLSession, and utilizes tools such as Frida and Objection for comprehensive testing.
