This guide provides comprehensive advice for positioning applied computer vision research for the IEEE/CVF WACV conference. It helps authors assess the manuscript's fit, re-frame the narrative from journal or arXiv styles, and ensure the contribution highlights practical systems, strong empirical evaluation, and application grounding required by top CV venues.

This guide helps researchers position their work within the broader, multidisciplinary development conversation. It teaches how to move beyond simply presenting new data or techniques, focusing instead on bridging disciplines (e.g., economics and political science) and identifying the core conceptual contribution that a non-specialist can grasp. It is crucial for manuscripts aiming for high-impact development journals.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to World Development (WD) and similar cross-disciplinary journals. It helps authors anticipate and proactively address the diverse and often conflicting objections from double-anonymized, multidisciplinary reviewers (e.g., methodologists vs. contextualists). The strategy covers strengthening methodology, embedding clear development contributions, and structuring the argument to minimize rejection risk.

This guide helps researchers move beyond decorative theory to construct 'load-bearing' conceptual or analytical frameworks for World Development (WD) manuscripts. It outlines how to transform vague ideas into structured, testable mechanisms by stating clear mechanisms, deriving discriminating predictions, mapping predictions to evidence, and defining scope conditions, ensuring the theory actively drives the empirical argument.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for researchers to assess if their development-related work is suitable for World Development (WD). It moves beyond mere methodological rigor, focusing instead on the paper's multidisciplinary relevance, real-world policy stakes, and ability to advance global understanding of development problems (e.g., poverty, governance, inequality). It helps authors ensure their findings appeal to a broad academic and policy audience.

This router is designed to guide researchers through the complex, multidisciplinary workflow of writing a manuscript for World Development (WD). It helps users determine the correct next step—whether the paper is quantitative, purely qualitative, or mixed-methods—at every stage, from initial topic selection and literature positioning to robust revision, rebuttal, and final submission. It ensures the work meets the high bar of real-world development relevance.

This guide helps scholars rigorously defend the methodological design of academic papers, particularly in International Relations and Comparative Politics. It covers advanced techniques such as process tracing, case selection logic, quantitative cross-national panel data analysis (DID, IV, RDD), and experimental design. Its core purpose is to strengthen causal claims by explicitly addressing selection bias, defining scope conditions, and ruling out major rival explanations.

Details the rigorous selection and peer-review process for top-tier academic journals, such as those in comparative politics or international relations. This guide helps authors pre-empt common rejection reasons—including scope mismatch, lack of theoretical engagement, or unclear methodology—by structuring their manuscripts according to high academic standards (e.g., triple-blind anonymity, comparative focus, and ethical compliance).

This skill serves as a comprehensive guide for academic authors, helping them pressure-test if their research topic is appropriate for specialist journals in comparative politics and international relations (IR). It helps determine if a project is substantive, comparative (travels across cases/systems), theory-advancing, and falls within the journal's core scope, ensuring the work meets high academic standards.

A comprehensive framework for ensuring reproducibility in Web Search and Data Mining (WSDM) research. It addresses unique challenges associated with behavioral data, covering data provenance, temporal splitting discipline, bias assumption reporting, statistical rigor (seeds, variance), and the 'honesty ladder' for non-reproducible results, helping researchers publish robust and verifiable work.

A comprehensive guide for researchers to evaluate if their project aligns with the niche scope of WSDM. It details the 'two-gate test' (web/social data focus and practical/principled approach) and provides a routing table to help authors determine the most appropriate conference venue (e.g., SIGIR, KDD, RecSys) for their work.

This skill guides authors through the complex process of law-review placement, focusing on multi-submission market strategies and timing. It provides critical, YLJ-specific advice, covering seasonal cycles (Spring/Fall), the proper use of offers for expediting, and adherence to YLJ's unique submission rules (e.g., no competitive advantage from expediting, anonymized review). It helps authors optimize the entire submission campaign.
