Skill UI

This guide details the Hexagonal Architecture (Ports and Adapters) pattern, a robust method for decoupling core business logic from external infrastructure concerns. It teaches how to structure applications to make the domain model independent of databases, UI frameworks, or message queues. Implementing this pattern drastically improves testability, maintainability, and the ability to swap out external services without rewriting business rules.

This skill provides comprehensive guidance on idiomatic Go patterns for building production-ready, robust applications. It covers best practices like functional options, proper constructor design, resource management (timeouts, graceful shutdown), error handling, concurrency patterns, and architectural styles (DDD, Hexagonal). Use it when structuring complex Go APIs, defining service boundaries, or auditing existing code for common anti-patterns and performance pitfalls.

This skill provides the core mechanism for integrating Hex into external data pipelines. It enables triggering, monitoring, and managing Hex projects (e.g., via Airflow or Dagster) programmatically. Users can implement parameterized runs, execute multi-step ETL workflows sequentially, and handle status polling and error management, making it ideal for production data orchestration.

This skill provides programmatic access to manage Hex workspace resources and configure scheduled project runs via the Hex Admin API. It allows users to automate repetitive tasks, monitor project execution status, and manage users, groups, and data connections using external cron triggers or API calls, ensuring robust workflow automation.

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for setting up and configuring authentication for the Hex SDK/CLI using OAuth 2.0 Bearer tokens. It is essential for developers looking to integrate Hex into a project, allowing programmatic control over triggering project runs, checking status, and managing connections via the Hex API.

A comprehensive guide to setting up a robust local development loop for Hex API orchestration. This includes defining the project structure, creating a typed API client using TypeScript, and implementing mocked unit tests (e.g., using vitest) to ensure fast iteration and reliable testing of data pipelines and external service interactions.

This guide provides techniques to significantly boost performance when integrating with the Hex API. It covers essential optimization strategies such as implementing LRU caching for project lists, running multiple independent jobs in parallel, and adopting adaptive polling intervals to manage API latency and resource usage effectively. Use this when facing slow data retrieval or requiring high-throughput data processing.

This guide provides production-ready patterns for integrating with the Hex platform API using TypeScript and Python. It covers essential best practices like robust retry logic, typed client usage, pipeline orchestration, and Airflow integration, helping developers establish standardized, reliable coding standards for complex Hex workflows.

A comprehensive guide detailing security best practices for the Hex data analytics platform. This covers secure API key management (read vs. run scopes), implementing least privilege access, validating webhooks, and redacting sensitive data from logs. Use this guide when auditing Hex security configuration or integrating secure data pipelines.

This guide provides comprehensive solutions for diagnosing and resolving common errors and exceptions encountered while using the Hex data platform. It covers critical areas such as API authentication failures (401, 403), resource not found issues (404), rate limiting, and various run status errors (ERRORED, KILLED). This is essential for debugging failed data requests, optimizing integration workflows, and ensuring stable data analytics pipelines.

This tool collects a comprehensive diagnostic archive for the Hex platform. It gathers crucial evidence, including API connectivity status, project inventory, recent run histories, data connection health, and current rate limit information. Use this bundle when encountering persistent bugs, preparing detailed support tickets, or troubleshooting complex data flow issues.

This integration facilitates the deployment of Hex orchestration services to major cloud platforms like Vercel, Google Cloud Run, and Fly.io. It is essential for setting up production environments, managing platform-specific secrets (like API tokens), and automating deployment pipelines for Hex-powered applications.
