A comprehensive guide for drafting a structured and evidence-based response to academic peer reviews, particularly for high-stakes journals like JLE. It teaches authors how to triage reviewer comments, structure the response letter (opening summary, point-by-point), and address complex issues such as legal identification and institutional description while maintaining a professional, non-defensive tone.

This guide provides a structured methodology for designing a comprehensive robustness suite for high-stakes academic papers, particularly in monetary economics and banking. Instead of running arbitrary checks, it maps diagnostic tests directly to named econometric threats (e.g., shock contamination, specification dependence, inference understatement, regime shifts), ensuring the credibility and rigor of empirical findings.

Provides a comprehensive guide for authors responding to a Journal of Monetary Economics (JME) revise-and-resubmit (R&R). It addresses the high-stakes "up or out" nature of the submission, teaching how to prioritize make-or-break points, structure a meticulous point-by-point rebuttal, and adhere to strict formatting rules (e.g., using online supplements) to maximize publication chances.

Provides comprehensive guidelines for structuring, formatting, and interpreting tables and figures (exhibits) for high-stakes academic manuscripts. It ensures that statistical results are self-contained, focusing on conveying economic magnitude and maintaining a clear logical flow, while strictly adhering to journal page budgets and specialized evidence types (e.g., econometrics, SEM).

This comprehensive guide provides authors with a final preflight checklist for submitting manuscripts to high-stakes academic journals, such as the Journal of Econometrics (JoE). It meticulously covers technical formatting rules (e.g., source files, spacing, abstract length), journal-specific processes (e.g., single-anonymized review, fee payment), and navigating complex submission portals (Editorial Manager vs. Editorial Express). Use this tool as a final quality check before hitting 'submit' to ensure compliance and maximize acceptance chances.

A comprehensive guide to advanced econometric identification strategies required for high-stakes public finance research. Covers techniques like Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD), Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Bunching, and Instrumental Variables (IV). It stresses the need to defend policy-induced discontinuities and manage threats of endogeneity, improving the credibility of empirical claims.

A comprehensive guide to modeling the specific peer review cycle of MLSys submissions. It details the OpenReview workflow, the challenges posed by the mixed ML and systems reviewer pool, and provides strategic advice on addressing concerns related to workload representativeness, baseline strength, and evidence scope matching for high-stakes technical papers.

A comprehensive guide for revising technical submissions, particularly in computational linguistics and NLP. It details how to enforce linguistic scope discipline, present examples as verifiable arguments, structure the first page for maximum impact, anticipate reviewer limitations, and maintain strict terminology consistency for high-stakes academic publishing.

This skill is designed for building complex, audit-ready financial models in Excel. Use it for 3-statement projections, DCF valuation, LBO analysis, unit economics, or advanced scenario planning. It enforces professional standards like the three-zone architecture (Inputs, Calculation, Outputs), strict formula discipline, and robust auditing gates, ensuring the output is suitable for high-stakes decision-making.

This guide provides a structured approach for writing high-stakes author responses to academic paper reviews (like those in OOPSLA). It teaches authors how to move beyond simple rebuttals by framing every concern as an argument supporting a desired outcome (Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject). Focus areas include quantifying feasibility, structuring the argument for committee skimming, and strategically shaping the scope of required revisions.

A specialized guide for authors preparing manuscripts for top-tier academic journals. This skill teaches how to structure and write the mandatory contribution statement (under 500 words), focusing on articulating the paper's overall contribution to the field rather than simply claiming novelty. It covers identifying the source of contribution (e.g., new data, mechanism, theory) and aligning the discussion section to match the high-stakes claim made in the statement.

A comprehensive guide detailing the necessary author response techniques for high-stakes academic conferences, particularly focusing on the shift from traditional rebuttals to structured, mandated revision cycles (shepherding). It covers pre-submission pre-mortems, managing mandated changes using a change matrix, and maintaining professional rigor throughout the review process. Ideal for PhD students and researchers.
