Skill UI

This tool assists startup founders and C-level executives in making critical AI strategy decisions. It evaluates whether to use APIs, fine-tune models, or build from scratch using TCO analysis. It also classifies AI use cases under regulations like the EU AI Act and US state laws, calculates self-hosting economics, and recommends appropriate AI hiring roles.

A comprehensive pre-submission strategy tool designed for authors submitting to top macroeconomics journals, such as AEJ: Macro. It helps authors anticipate and structure defenses against predictable, highly technical objections (e.g., identification flaws, robustness gaps, lack of breadth) raised by expert referees and co-editors. Use this guide to assess desk-reject risk, plan necessary robustness checks, and pre-emptively strengthen the manuscript before formal submission.

This guide provides comprehensive, advanced econometric strategies for ensuring robust identification in international economics manuscripts, specifically for high-impact journals. It covers modern approaches for gravity models (using PPML), staggered trade-policy shocks (Callaway-Sant'Anna), shift-share analyses, and structural open-economy modeling. It helps authors stress-test their research designs against rigorous academic standards.

A comprehensive guide for establishing rigorous causal claims in law and economics. It details advanced econometric methodologies (DiD, RDD, IV, Event Study) required to defend the identification strategy—the mapping from a legal variation to the causal estimand—meeting the high standards of top academic journals.

This guide helps scholars precisely define the novel contribution of their research manuscript in the specialized field of Law and Economics (L&E). It teaches authors how to position their work's marginal addition against foundational L&E literature (like Coase or Becker), moving beyond mere topic novelty to focus on new answers, legal variations, or mechanisms. Essential for navigating high-tier academic publishing.

A comprehensive guide designed to help researchers pre-empt the complex and specific objections raised by referees in law-and-economics journals like JLE. It addresses the unique requirements of single-blind review, focusing on institutional accuracy, methodological robustness, and structuring the manuscript to anticipate critical questions before submission.

A comprehensive guide and package structure for preparing empirical law and economics manuscripts for journal submission, ensuring full data and code reproducibility prior to publication. It mandates the assembly of data files, transformation scripts, a master execution script, and detailed README documentation, explicitly addressing the unique challenges of restricted or proprietary legal data sources (e.g., sealed court records).

A comprehensive guide for performing rigorous robustness checks on causal estimates in law and economics. It teaches researchers how to pre-empt common referee concerns—such as specification search, alternative treatment dating, or contaminated controls—by implementing targeted, methodologically sound tests to ensure estimates are stable and credible.

A comprehensive checklist for authors submitting manuscripts to The Journal of Law and Economics (JLE). It guides users through critical pre-submission steps, including single-blind formatting, confirming the required US$100 fee, adhering to Chicago author-date style, and ensuring data replication readiness. Use this guide for the final review before pressing submit.

A comprehensive guide for formatting and creating high-impact tables and figures for academic submissions, particularly adhering to The Journal of Law and Economics (JLE) standards. It teaches how to visually present the main effect of a legal rule (e.g., event-studies, RD, DiD) clearly and concisely, ensuring the core identification is legible at a glance. Covers best practices for standard errors, clustering, and self-contained academic notes.

This guide helps researchers refine and vet their law-and-economics research questions to determine the optimal journal venue (e.g., JLE, JLO, JLEO). It provides a detailed 'fit test' and checklist, ensuring the project centers on a core legal/regulatory institution and uses a credible empirical or theoretical design, moving beyond merely descriptive data analysis.

This skill acts as a central router for manuscripts targeting The Journal of Law and Economics (JLE). It guides the user through the entire research lifecycle—from initial topic selection and literature positioning to rigorous identification, robustness testing, writing, and final submission/rebuttal. It helps diagnose the current bottleneck and suggests the next specialized skill to use, ensuring adherence to JLE's high standards for empirical economic analysis of law.
