Skill UI

A specialized tool designed to help academic researchers evaluate the suitability of their manuscripts for the 'Research and Development Management' journal. It analyzes the paper's fit, theoretical framing, structural requirements, and potential weaknesses against the journal's focus on enterprise-level innovation mechanisms, knowledge management, and academic rigor. It simulates the journal's editorial review process.

This guide helps authors transform raw research results into a clear, theory-driven, and policy-relevant scholarly contribution. It focuses on articulating the 'Before $ ightarrow$ After' knowledge shift—what the field previously believed versus what the paper now proves—and ensuring the policy implication is logically earned from the estimated mechanism, rather than being a generic add-on.

This guide provides a framework for selecting and defending the appropriate research methodology for innovation-studies claims. It covers best practices for patent/bibliometric analysis, causal policy evaluation (e.g., DID, RDD), survey design, case studies, and mixed methods. It emphasizes that the method must fit the construct, not merely the indicator, guiding users to defend the underlying theoretical mechanism.

This guide provides best practices for building self-explanatory, high-impact exhibits for interdisciplinary academic manuscripts. It covers the structured design of complex visualizations, including regression tables, bibliometric maps, event-study plots, and qualitative data structures. The goal is to ensure every figure and table carries the core innovation mechanism and is immediately interpretable by diverse readers (e.g., policymakers, managers, and economists).

This guide assists in building a robust theoretical framework for research policy manuscripts. It moves beyond simple empirical measurement by structuring the argument using the innovation-mechanism chain (antecedent → mechanism → outcome). It teaches how to connect firm-level findings up to the systemic policy or institutional level, ensuring the contribution is theoretically advanced and legible across disciplines (e.g., economic, managerial, STS).

This guide provides a comprehensive methodological framework for conducting and reporting rigorous robustness checks in high-stakes empirical economics papers. It details crucial steps—including specification stability, placebo tests, inference corrections, and mechanism evidence—necessary to anticipate skeptical reviewers. The goal is to harden findings, ensure reproducibility, and elevate the credibility of research findings.

This guide provides a structured methodology for articulating the core contribution of an accounting research paper, particularly for academic journals like RAST. It teaches authors how to move beyond merely listing methods or results, instead crafting a single, sharp, defensible sentence that specifies the accounting construct, the effect, the underlying mechanism, and the resulting implication for standard-setters, investors, or theory. Use this when your findings are compelling but the 'so what' is unclear.

This guide helps structure and build rigorous academic theories and economic models, especially for accounting manuscripts. Use it when the core challenge is articulating the underlying economic mechanism (friction, channel), building a minimal, provable model, or moving beyond simple correlation (HARKing). It guides the process from raw primitives to testable, proposition-based arguments.

This skill guides researchers through the rigorous process of refining a preliminary accounting idea into a sharp, contribution-driven research question suitable for top academic journals like Review of Accounting Studies (RAST). It helps users identify the core accounting construct, define the mechanism (friction/channel), and ensure the study's focus is on accounting theory, rather than merely using accounting data in a general finance context.

A comprehensive guide for researchers in finance and economics to rigorously assess their research proposals. It helps pressure-test an idea against the high standards of top academic journals, focusing on establishing genuine novelty (new questions, mechanisms, or data) and methodological rigor. Ideal for structuring the contribution claim and refining the research design.

This guide helps researchers determine if their applied microeconomics topic aligns with the deliberately narrow scope of a top Industrial Organization (IO) journal. It provides a structured framework to sharpen vague ideas into focused, mechanism-driven, and policy-relevant questions concerning antitrust, regulation, market structure, and firm strategy.

This guide teaches how to transition from a general literature survey to a precise, high-impact staking of position, particularly for top-tier finance journals like RoF. It emphasizes identifying the 3-6 closest frontier papers, clearly articulating the 'delta' (what your paper adds), and bridging the gap between empirical evidence and theoretical mechanisms. Mastery of this skill is crucial for surviving rigorous academic peer review.
