A comprehensive guide for authors on navigating the rigorous process of academic conference revisions (e.g., NSDI). It details both pre-submission objection handling and executing the formal one-shot revision packet, emphasizing structured change memos, highlighted diffs, and maintaining a professional, non-defensive tone.

Provides comprehensive guidelines for authors responding to reviewer objections after a major technical conference submission (e.g., PLDI). It details how to triage structural critiques—including factual errors, soundness doubts, and evaluation gaps—and emphasizes maintaining academic rigor, adhering strictly to the original scope, and avoiding promises of unproven new contributions.

This guide provides a rigorous framework for positioning scholarly manuscripts for highly specialized journals like Public Opinion Quarterly (POQ). It emphasizes that a successful paper must engage with both the substantive academic debate (e.g., opinion theory) and the foundational methodological lineage (e.g., nonresponse, survey error). It teaches authors how to precisely define the research gap, articulate the contribution's move, and pre-empt common methodological objections from expert reviewers.

This guide outlines best practices for PRL submissions, detailing how to select suggested and opposed referees. It emphasizes demonstrating both scientific correctness and broad interdisciplinary significance to preempt likely reviewer objections, maximizing the letter's chance of acceptance.

A comprehensive guide detailing the rigorous, theory-specific peer review process for major academic journals. It explains the mechanics of masked peer review, the distinction between Theoretical Articles and Theoretical Notes, and anticipates the deep theoretical objections that reviewers—who are often rival model builders—will raise. Use this before submission or after receiving a decision letter to properly strategize revisions.

A comprehensive war-gaming guide designed for authors preparing manuscripts for top-tier journals, such as QJE. It teaches how to anticipate hostile referee objections across different academic archetypes (e.g., identification hawks, 'so what?' skeptics) and proactively address them—both fundamentally and for robustness—before submission. This process stress-tests the paper's core claims, structure, and arguments, significantly boosting the chances of passing the initial desk-screen.

This strategy guides researchers in anticipating the specific, rigorous methodological objections raised by top-tier academic referees, especially in applied econometrics. It provides a systematic map connecting econometric designs (like DID, IV, RD) to common threats (e.g., measurement error, bias, specification issues). Users can pre-empt these criticisms by structuring their manuscript to include necessary defenses, robustness checks, and scope limitations before formal submission.

This skill guides authors on how to proactively strengthen their academic manuscripts before submission, especially for highly demanding journals. It involves identifying the most likely expert reviewers, predicting their specific methodological, theoretical, or empirical objections, and strategically integrating countermeasures, robustness checks, and alternative explanations directly into the main text. It transforms the submission process from a defensive reaction to a proactive, structured argument.

Provides a comprehensive guide for authors submitting to the Review of Educational Research (RER). It helps authors anticipate reviewer and editor expectations, framing their work as a significant advance rather than a simple summary. The guide covers rigorous methodological standards, addressing predictable objections (e.g., search incompleteness, coding reliability) and ensuring the manuscript is appropriately positioned relative to other academic venues.

This comprehensive guide provides authors with a strategic framework for submitting academic manuscripts to top-tier journals. It details best practices for suggesting and opposing expert reviewers, and, crucially, performing an 'objection pre-mortem.' By anticipating common critiques (e.g., lack of novelty, identification threats) and preparing robust counter-arguments beforehand, authors can significantly strengthen their paper and increase their chances of acceptance.

A comprehensive guide for structuring research papers, particularly in computer graphics and visualization fields (like SIGGRAPH). It dictates how to match technical claims (e.g., 'higher quality,' 'faster') to verifiable evidence, including head-to-head comparisons against State-of-the-Art (SOTA), detailed metric reporting (PSNR, SSIM, Hausdorff), performance timing linked to specific hardware, and robust user studies. Essential for achieving academic rigor and pre-empting domain reviewer objections.

This guide provides a comprehensive strategy for authors submitting to top theoretical computing conferences (like STOC). It covers best practices for pre-emptive objection handling, structuring the main submission to anticipate critiques, responding effectively to chair-mediated technical clarifications, and planning the subsequent resubmission memo for maximum impact.
