This guide provides a sophisticated framework for structuring the related work section when submitting research to KDD. It instructs authors on how to position their work within the deep academic lineage of data mining, comparing their novelty not just to prior KDD volumes, but also to major ML flagships (ICML, NeurIPS) and specialized venues (WWW, ICDM). Learn to articulate mechanism-level differences and avoid common citation traps.

A detailed guide on how to write a rigorous and comparative 'Related Work' section for top-tier microarchitecture conferences (e.g., MICRO). It teaches authors to structure the section as a 'mechanism taxonomy,' differentiating designs based on structural and cost differences rather than merely listing citations. Key areas covered include sweeping academic venues, integrating industry disclosures, and verifying all venue attributions using tools like dblp.

A comprehensive guide for authors to position their ML systems research by mapping the vast, scattered literature across multiple venues (OSDI, SOSP, NeurIPS, open-source projects). It details how to audit novelty, handle fast-moving advancements, and write a defensible delta statement against both academic and industrial prior work.

A comprehensive guide to modeling the specific peer review cycle of MLSys submissions. It details the OpenReview workflow, the challenges posed by the mixed ML and systems reviewer pool, and provides strategic advice on addressing concerns related to workload representativeness, baseline strength, and evidence scope matching for high-stakes technical papers.

This guide details the rigorous process of writing the "Related Work" section for top-tier mobile communications conferences like MobiCom. It covers sweeping multiple literature lanes (e.g., SIGCOMM, INFOCOM, Sibling Venues), verifying every citation's venue on dblp/ACM DL to avoid misattribution traps, and articulating the precise technical delta between the proposed mechanism and prior art. Essential reading for technical researchers.

This guide provides detailed academic instructions on structuring the 'Related Work' section for mobile systems conferences like MobiSys. It teaches authors how to position their novelty by covering adjacent literature lanes (e.g., on-device ML, offload, mobile OS) and differentiating their work from existing, similar state-of-the-art systems, while maintaining rigorous academic integrity.

This guide helps researchers determine if their core contribution—a mobile or embedded system, application, or service running on a device—is best suited for the MobiSys conference. It provides detailed criteria for venue selection, distinguishing between contributions for MobiSys, MobiCom, SenSys, NSDI/OSDI, and other related top-tier venues, ensuring authors route their work to the most appropriate academic community.

This comprehensive guide equips authors with a structured framework for writing the Related Work section for top-tier NLP conferences (e.g., NAACL). It emphasizes tracking methodological, data, and task lineages, ensuring citation precision across Findings, workshops, and preprints, and culminating in a single, falsifiable "delta sentence" to precisely position the novel contribution.

A comprehensive guide for positioning security research submissions (e.g., for NDSS, USENIX). It teaches how to write the 'Related Work' section not as a mere literature review, but as a critical security argument that establishes genuine novelty (the 'delta') by distinguishing mechanisms, layers, and preconditions from prior art. Covers citation verification, handling concurrent work, and double-blind anonymity rules.

A comprehensive guide for security researchers to determine the optimal top-tier conference venue for their paper. It provides structured 'fit tests'—including the wire test, deployment envelope test, and adversary ownership test—and a routing table to assess whether the work belongs at NDSS, IEEE S&P, USENIX Security, or related venues, maximizing the chance of successful publication.

A comprehensive guide for authors targeting top-tier security conferences like NDSS. This skill helps determine manuscript fit, refine the academic framing, strengthen evidence, and understand venue-specific expectations (e.g., realistic attacker models, empirical validation). It serves as a strategic tool for conference submission planning, comparing submissions against related venues like USENIX Security and CCS.

This skill guides authors on how to strategically position their machine learning research against complex academic landscapes. It covers comparing work to neighboring conferences (ICML, ICLR), analyzing contemporaneous preprints, and defining the exact technical delta from prior methods to minimize novelty risk for top-tier AI venues.
