Skill UI

A comprehensive guide for authors writing the Related Work section of ACM Multimedia papers. It teaches how to position cross-modal contributions by covering diverse single-modality shelves (Vision, Audio, Language, HCI), tracing the cross-modal lineage, defining the specific cross-disciplinary novelty (delta), and adhering to academic hygiene standards like double-blinding and venue verification.

This skill acts as a comprehensive workflow router for writing Advanced Materials (Adv. Mater.) manuscripts. It guides authors through the entire publishing lifecycle—from initial scope assessment to final submission and revision. It helps diagnose bottlenecks related to scientific advance, characterization strength, figure quality, and adherence to journal format, ensuring the manuscript is robust and ready for publication.

A comprehensive guide for authors writing the Related Work section for high-impact journals (e.g., Acta Electronica Sinica). It teaches how to structure the review critically, moving beyond mere chronology to organize by technical path, defining scope, articulating clear technical deficiencies, and precisely positioning the paper's novelty against state-of-the-art methods.

This comprehensive guide helps researchers position their academic paper for AISTATS, ensuring maximum novelty and eligibility. It provides detailed advice on comparative analysis, teaching authors how to contrast statistical methods against both modern ML literature (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML) and established statistical theory (e.g., JASA, Annals of Statistics). It covers proper citation of concurrent work, understanding archival status, and structuring the 'Related Work' section to highlight unique technical contributions.

A detailed guide for authors writing the Related Work section of an Automated Software Engineering (ASE) paper. It teaches the crucial 'delta argument' methodology, emphasizing that positioning must be against prior automated tools, covering multiple SE literature lanes, and conducting fair, head-to-head empirical comparisons to clearly delineate the novelty of the proposed work.

A comprehensive guide for authors writing related work sections for top-tier systems conferences (e.g., ATC). It teaches how to accurately position a new system relative to existing literature, emphasizing delta-first comparisons, covering adjacent subareas, and adhering to strict double-blind citation protocols. Essential for academic rigor in systems research.

A comprehensive guide for authors targeting the British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC). This skill helps assess whether a computer vision manuscript fits the venue, providing expert advice on framing, necessary evidence gaps, structural improvements, and differentiating the work from related CV conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV). It ensures the contribution is clear and highly specialized for specialist reviewers.

This guide helps authors strategically position their research within active academic debates, particularly in accounting. It ensures the contribution advances a live accounting conversation, clearly distinguishes the work from related finance or economics papers, and adheres to necessary disclosure rules regarding the authors' own concurrent publications. It transforms a manuscript from merely reporting findings into actively joining and advancing a scholarly dialogue.

Provides detailed guidelines for authors on how to accurately position their research novelty within the complex landscape of formal verification techniques, tools, and academic literature. It emphasizes shifting from a simple citation catalog to a 'delta-first' contrast, clearly articulating technical differences, crediting specific tool and benchmark lineages, and understanding the scope of related venues (e.g., CAV, TACAS, FMCAD).

This guide details how to audit and position security research submissions for premier academic venues like CCS, S&P, USENIX, and NDSS. It teaches authors to structure their 'Related Work' section by comparing their novelty against the 'security big four,' specialist literature, and real-world practitioner records (such as CVEs and vendor advisories). The goal is to clearly articulate the technical delta and eligibility for publication.

This guide details best practices for structuring and writing the "Related Work" section for top-tier Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) conferences like CHI. It emphasizes moving beyond mere literature inventory to actively positioning your contribution by identifying research gaps across various disciplinary lanes (e.g., Psychology, Design, HCI family). Following these guidelines is crucial for avoiding desk rejection due to insufficient contextualization.

This guide details the complex requirements for writing the 'Related Work' section for CIKM submissions. It emphasizes the need for 'three-front coverage' (Retrieval, Mining, and Knowledge Management/Databases) and provides specific instructions on writing the 'boundary-work paragraph.' It also covers critical academic hygiene, such as avoiding venue misattribution, maintaining recency baselines, and accurately stating novel contributions.
