This guide provides expert strategies for crafting the 'Related Work' section in NLP research papers, ensuring it moves beyond a simple literature list. It emphasizes structuring the section as a contrastive argument that clearly positions the contribution, addresses citation specifics (e.g., ACL Anthology vs. arXiv), acknowledges concurrent work, and ensures coverage of diverse and recent venues like LREC-COLING and TACL.

This guide provides best practices for authors writing the Related Work section for top-tier AI conferences (e.g., ECAI). It instructs users on how to cover diverse AI lanes (symbolic, learning, multi-agent, application) for broad reviewers, employ 'Delta-first' positioning to state novelty concisely, and adhere to strict page budgets and double-blind review rules.

A comprehensive guide for positioning novel research in elite computer vision and AI conferences (e.g., ECCV). It details how to structure the related work section by tracing academic lineage, handling concurrent work, verifying citation hygiene across venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV), and transforming simple bibliographies into strong, argumentative prose. Essential for improving novelty visibility.

A comprehensive guide for structuring the introduction and related-work section of academic manuscripts, specifically tailored for journals like The Economic Journal (EJ). It teaches authors how to effectively position their research contribution for a broad, generalist economic readership, moving beyond niche citations to articulate the general economic question, the gap in knowledge, and the paper's wide-ranging relevance.

This guide teaches how to precisely position a new research result within the formal theoretical lineage of existing literature. Unlike a general literature review, this method focuses on defining the formal relationship (e.g., nesting, generalization, assumption weakening) between your contribution and the closest prior work, minimizing credibility risks in academic publishing.

A comprehensive guide for positioning econometric research papers for submission to The Econometrics Journal (EctJ). It emphasizes making the novelty legible to both econometricians and applied users by focusing on a leading-case contribution within a stringent 20-page limit. Techniques include defining the 'Frontier layer' and 'Use layer' of related work, and placing citations strategically to maximize impact and demonstrate a sharp, applied delta.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to top-tier database conferences (like EDBT). It teaches how to audit the novelty and eligibility of a research paper by writing a 'delta-first' contrast against related work, rather than simply listing citations. Covers positioning contributions relative to flagship venues, theory literature, and managing resubmission rules.

This guide provides a structured framework for authors to sharpen the narrative of their academic contribution, particularly for high-impact journals. It teaches the 'two-layer positioning': creating a broad-interest hook for general readers, and defining a precise marginal delta against 3-5 specific, current frontier papers. It transforms vague related-work sections into compelling, verifiable arguments.

A deep dive into the best practices for drafting the Related Work section for top-tier NLP conferences (like EMNLP). This guide instructs authors on how to trace task lineage, verify dataset ancestry, manage concurrent work citations (arXiv vs. Anthology), and ensure rigorous citation hygiene to withstand expert reviewer scrutiny.

A specialized guide for authors targeting top-tier academic journals in moral, political, and legal philosophy. It assesses manuscript rigor, guiding authors on crafting original normative arguments, engaging with rival theories, and distinguishing between theoretical contributions and mere case studies. It helps authors determine if their work meets the high standards required for publication, especially when choosing between related venues.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting systems papers to the EuroSys conference. It helps authors assess the suitability of their manuscript, frame the narrative, and determine the required evidence depth (including implementation artifacts and realistic workloads). The guide specifically covers European systems research in OS, distributed systems, cloud, and security, while providing comparisons to related top-tier venues like SOSP and OSDI.

A comprehensive guide for authors on how to position novelty within top-tier systems literature (like EuroSys, SOSP, OSDI). It teaches authors to move beyond superficial citations by defining concrete 'technical deltas,' systematically covering neighboring research venues, and structuring the argument based on problem dimensions rather than chronology. Essential for ensuring rigorous academic positioning.
