This guide provides rigorous guidelines for revising academic manuscripts intended for general-interest economic journals. It teaches authors how to transform technically correct prose into a compelling narrative, ensuring that the core research question, the methodology, and the headline finding are immediately clear to a non-specialist audience. It emphasizes structuring the abstract and introduction with an answer-first approach.

This comprehensive workflow guides researchers through the entire lifecycle of submitting a specialized academic paper to the Journal of Economic Growth (JEG). It maps out critical stages, from initial topic selection and literature positioning to rigorous data analysis, writing style adherence, and the post-submission review and rebuttal process. Essential for structuring theoretical, empirical, or mixed growth macroeconomics papers.

This framework guides the creation of a structured, argumentative literature review, preventing the writing from becoming a mere annotated bibliography. By imposing a unifying taxonomy, model, or question sequence, the author transforms scattered research into a cohesive argument about the field. It helps define the 'spine' of the survey, identifies knowledge gaps, and reconciles apparent contradictions in existing literature.

This skill acts as a comprehensive workflow router for authors preparing a survey or review article for the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL). It guides users through the entire academic writing lifecycle, from initial topic selection and proposing the scope to systematic literature synthesis, structuring the argument, and handling revisions based on editor/referee feedback. It ensures the output is a scholarly synthesis, not a primary research paper.

This router guides authors through the entire process of developing a compelling, non-technical synthesis article for a broad audience, specifically for the Journal of Economic Perspectives (JEP). It determines the optimal next skill to use—whether focusing on topic selection, narrative structure, improving accessibility, ensuring balance, or drafting the initial proposal—ensuring the final product reads as an accessible essay rather than a specialized research paper.

A comprehensive guide for refining academic finance manuscripts to meet the high standards of top journals like the Journal of Finance (JF). It teaches authors how to structure introductions to immediately convey the research question, key finding, and economic magnitude on page one, ensuring accessibility for a general finance audience while maintaining technical precision.

A comprehensive guide for researchers writing for top-tier journals like JFI. It teaches authors how to structure the introduction and related-work sections by clearly positioning their contribution against the established frontier of banking and financial intermediation. It emphasizes identifying the specific mechanism gap, citing the two to four closest antecedent papers, and distinguishing the work from adjacent financial fields.

This workflow router guides authors through the complex lifecycle of submitting a paper to the Journal of Financial Intermediation (JFI). It coordinates the entire academic writing process, determining the optimal sequence of skills based on whether the contribution is theory-led or empirics-led. It is designed to help authors structure their research, focusing on methodological rigor (e.g., Gate B checks) before drafting the final prose.

This guide helps researchers structure the institutional background section of advanced finance manuscripts. It emphasizes moving beyond general descriptions to precisely articulate regulatory rules, market segmentation, and ownership structures. The goal is to transform descriptive text into clear evidence for identifying exogeneity and analyzing policy shocks in empirical studies.

This router guides researchers through the entire lifecycle of writing and submitting a manuscript for the Journal of Health Economics (JHE). It identifies the optimal next step—from initial topic selection and causal design establishment to literature positioning, robustness testing, and handling referee revisions (R&R). It ensures the paper meets the rigorous standards of health economics, guaranteeing a structured, step-by-step approach for maximum publication success.

This style guide helps authors structure and write manuscripts for health economics journals, specifically addressing the unique needs of specialist reviewers. It focuses on ensuring the policy relevance, the empirical contribution, and the institutional grounding of the research are immediately clear, particularly in the abstract and introduction.

This skill acts as a sophisticated router for manuscripts aiming for the Journal of Human Resources (JHR). It does not replace specialized analysis skills but guides the user through the entire academic writing lifecycle—from initial topic selection and literature positioning to advanced data analysis, contribution framing, and final submission/rebuttal strategies. It is designed to diagnose workflow bottlenecks when a researcher asks, "What should I do next?"
