This guide teaches how to structure a historical manuscript to function as a significant scholarly intervention, rather than a mere report of archival findings. It instructs writers on identifying the prevailing historical debate, precisely stating their argument's contribution, and revising prior scholarship while maintaining academic rigor and breadth.

A comprehensive guide for conducting rigorous academic literature reviews. It teaches authors how to critically appraise and synthesize conflicting empirical evidence by weighing findings based on credibility, study design, and contextual differences. The framework ensures balance, maintains objectivity, and elevates the quality of academic scholarship.

A comprehensive guide for placing art historical arguments within the broader context of scholarly debate and historiography. It teaches users how to trace foundational scholarship, identify precise gaps in existing research, and clearly establish the intellectual novelty of their contribution for a generalist academic audience.

This guide provides a methodological framework for authors submitting manuscripts to major, all-fields academic journals, particularly those with rigorous comment-and-reply cycles. It moves beyond a simple literature review, teaching authors how to strategically position their work within a live, transnational academic conversation. Key elements include identifying the precise theoretical gap, demonstrating cross-subfield relevance, and incorporating marginalized or regional scholarship to meet the expectations of a global academic audience.

A comprehensive framework for evaluating preliminary economic research ideas against the standards of top-tier journals, such as The Economic Journal (EJ). This tool helps researchers determine if their findings possess broad intellectual appeal, substantial contribution, and a clear economic mechanism, guiding decisions on scope, format (full-length vs. short-paper), and appropriate academic outlet. It is crucial for moving beyond niche results toward widely impactful scholarship.

This guide outlines the canonical structure for high-level legal scholarship, following the Harvard Law Review (HLR) model. It mandates a progression through four parts: mapping the current doctrine, diagnosing its failure using a theory, proposing a specific prescription (reform), and finally adjudicating the strongest counterarguments. It ensures the argument is logical, earned, and highly persuasive.

This framework guides authors on positioning their Information Systems (IS) research manuscripts by joining existing, ongoing academic conversations rather than simply cataloging gaps. It emphasizes the necessity of demonstrating an intradisciplinary move by bridging multiple theoretical silos (e.g., economic, behavioral, design-science) and engaging core IS scholarship to maximize academic impact in top-tier journals.

This guide outlines the rigorous standards for handling primary sources, evidence, and field data in humanities scholarship, particularly in religious studies. It provides detailed methodologies for citing original texts, establishing provenance, managing translations, and integrating fieldwork ethics, ensuring academic claims are well-situated and defensible without relying on quantitative statistics.

This skill guides legal scholars through a systematic preemption check to ensure their academic claim is genuinely novel and not covered by prior work. It simulates comprehensive searches across specialized databases like SSRN, Westlaw, HeinOnline, and Google Scholar. The process helps users accurately draft the critical "what's new" contribution paragraph by classifying the relationship between their claim and existing scholarship.

This skill provides a rigorous fit test for legal scholarship ideas targeting The Yale Law Journal (YLJ). It helps users determine if their claim has generalist significance beyond a single niche, whether the argument is substantial enough (a claim, not a survey), and what the appropriate format (Article, Essay, Forum) should be. It is crucial for pre-drafting evaluation.

A rigorous multi-pass editor for law review articles, student notes, seminar papers, and other legal scholarship. It runs six specialized passes covering structure, substantive critique, Bluebook citations, grammar, fact-checking, and synthesis, delivering a prioritized editorial memo. Handles articles of any length via intelligent chunking and reads .docx directly.

Edit mathematically, empirically, or technically dense papers for readers outside the author's specialty, including empirical legal scholarship, law-and-economics models, and legal-technology research. Clarifies terminology, antecedents, study design, and claim-statistic relationships while checking equations, numbers, quotations, and citations against the source. Use to clarify exposition or de-jargonize a technical draft; not to rewrite briefs or doctrinal arguments. Produces an edited draft and audit memo. Full integrity checks and original-format rendering require suitable extraction, c...
