This guide provides a comprehensive framework for designing rigorous and defensible evaluation sections for machine learning and information retrieval papers, particularly for top-tier conferences like WSDM. It covers the four critical evidence quadrants—Effectiveness, Validity, Efficiency, and Robustness—and details necessary protocols, such as temporal splits, proper baseline selection (including heuristics), ablation studies, and hardware-aware performance reporting. Use this when auditing or writing the experimental section of a research paper.

This guide teaches researchers how to strategically position a paper's contribution within established academic lineages (e.g., click models, LTR). It emphasizes moving beyond simple citation coverage to writing precise 'contrast sentences' that articulate the technical delta, ensuring the work's novelty is clearly defined relative to neighboring venues like SIGIR and KDD. Ideal for authors refining their technical writing for top-tier conferences.

A comprehensive framework for ensuring reproducibility in Web Search and Data Mining (WSDM) research. It addresses unique challenges associated with behavioral data, covering data provenance, temporal splitting discipline, bias assumption reporting, statistical rigor (seeds, variance), and the 'honesty ladder' for non-reproducible results, helping researchers publish robust and verifiable work.

A comprehensive guide for auditing research papers submitted to the WSDM conference. It details critical constraints, including the no-rebuttal policy, strict 9-page budgets (including appendices), and stringent hybrid anonymization requirements. Use this guide to preemptively identify and correct submission flaws before the deadline.

A comprehensive guide for researchers to evaluate if their project aligns with the niche scope of WSDM. It details the 'two-gate test' (web/social data focus and practical/principled approach) and provides a routing table to help authors determine the most appropriate conference venue (e.g., SIGIR, KDD, RecSys) for their work.

This comprehensive guide outlines the annual workflow for submitting research papers to major AI/NLP conferences, such as WSDM. It details critical milestones, including abstract deadlines, paper submission, conference logistics, and strategies for alternative tracks (short papers, demos). It is essential for researchers managing their academic publication timeline and coordinating with neighboring venues.

This guide provides detailed stylistic advice for authors submitting papers to WSDM. It emphasizes structuring work around observed user and web behaviors, adopting a self-contained voice that preemptively addresses reviewer objections, and ensuring technical precision in all sections, including ethics and limitations. It transforms raw research into a publication-ready, principle-grounded narrative.

This skill guides legal scholars through a systematic preemption check to ensure their academic claim is genuinely novel and not covered by prior work. It simulates comprehensive searches across specialized databases like SSRN, Westlaw, HeinOnline, and Google Scholar. The process helps users accurately draft the critical "what's new" contribution paragraph by classifying the relationship between their claim and existing scholarship.

Provides comprehensive guidelines for constructing academically rigorous legal citations, adhering strictly to The Bluebook format and specific journal requirements. It emphasizes the necessity of pinpoint citations, ensuring every law or fact assertion is supported by an authoritative source. Essential for law students, legal scholars, and researchers drafting highly accurate scholarly articles.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for authors to articulate the unique and marginal contribution of their research within the highly specialized field of health economics. It teaches how to frame findings against canonical literature, identify specific gaps, and structure the argument to satisfy expert reviewers, ensuring the paper's novelty is clearly demonstrated.

This skill guides researchers in transforming raw empirical findings into robust, portable, field-level theoretical contributions suitable for top-tier journals. It provides a structured framework for elevating results by defining explicit communication mechanisms, establishing scope conditions, and articulating observable implications. It ensures the work contributes to the core body of theoretical communication knowledge, moving beyond simple effect documentation.

This guide helps researchers structure and refine academic papers for the Journal on Communications (JOC). It provides a framework for separating core, decision-making content (main text) from supporting details (appendices/supplementary material), ensuring the manuscript remains scientifically rigorous yet adheres to strict length constraints (e.g., ~12000 characters). It teaches how to use a 'decisive three-question' standard.
