Skill UI

A comprehensive guide designed to help researchers pre-empt the complex and specific objections raised by referees in law-and-economics journals like JLE. It addresses the unique requirements of single-blind review, focusing on institutional accuracy, methodological robustness, and structuring the manuscript to anticipate critical questions before submission.

A comprehensive guide to establishing credible causal identification in empirical law and economics (L&E). It addresses the high institutional bar required by top journals, detailing how to defend the source of variation (e.g., reforms, governance choices, court assignments) against common threats like endogenous timing, selection bias, and omitted variables. Covers advanced methods including staggered Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Instrumental Variables (IV), and Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD).

This skill guides researchers through drafting a robust and credible response to major academic revisions (R&R) from top-tier journals, particularly in institutional economics. It teaches how to systematically decode editor feedback, separate core conceptual challenges from technical gaps, and structure a point-by-point reply that addresses deal-breakers effectively, ensuring the response is substantive and highly responsive.

A comprehensive strategy guide designed for researchers submitting papers in institutional or organizational economics. It teaches how to anticipate specialized referee objections—such as selection bias, endogeneity, or scope—before submission, ensuring the manuscript is robustly positioned for top-tier journals.

This comprehensive guide outlines a structured strategy for authors responding to journal reviewer reports (e.g., JMCB). It teaches how to transform complex, sometimes conflicting feedback into a prioritized, point-by-point revision plan. It emphasizes respecting the editor's hierarchy, reconciling conflicting demands, and maintaining persuasive academic professionalism.

A comprehensive guide for academics preparing manuscripts for top-tier journals (e.g., JMCB). It helps authors anticipate specialized critiques from monetary, banking, and structural economists by identifying predictable weaknesses, strengthening the core arguments, and pre-emptively addressing common methodological and scope-related objections before official submission.

This guide provides a structured methodology for designing a comprehensive robustness suite for high-stakes academic papers, particularly in monetary economics and banking. Instead of running arbitrary checks, it maps diagnostic tests directly to named econometric threats (e.g., shock contamination, specification dependence, inference understatement, regime shifts), ensuring the credibility and rigor of empirical findings.

This guide details the rigorous identification methods required for submitting macro-financial papers to top-tier journals like the Journal of Monetary Economics (JME). It covers techniques such as separating pure monetary shocks from information effects, implementing various Structural VARs (SVARs), using local projections, and conducting model-based identification, ensuring your claims meet the highest academic standards.

Provides a comprehensive guide for authors responding to a Journal of Monetary Economics (JME) revise-and-resubmit (R&R). It addresses the high-stakes "up or out" nature of the submission, teaching how to prioritize make-or-break points, structure a meticulous point-by-point rebuttal, and adhere to strict formatting rules (e.g., using online supplements) to maximize publication chances.

This guide provides a comprehensive strategy for crafting a persuasive response letter when submitting a revised manuscript following a 'Revise and Resubmit' (R&R) decision. It teaches authors how to address multiple, sometimes conflicting, demands from anonymous reviewers and an editor, ensuring the revision appears academically convergent and strengthens the paper's core contribution. It focuses on structure, tone, and strategic argumentation rather than generating new findings.

This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the rigorous, multi-round, double-blind review process common in top academic journals. It details stages from desk screening and external peer review to interpreting decision letters and understanding the developmental nature of revisions (R&R). Use this to calibrate submission expectations and plan your revision strategy.

This comprehensive guide provides a detailed strategy for authors drafting a formal, point-by-point rebuttal letter following major or minor journal revisions. It teaches how to address deep-seated concerns—such as contribution, identification, and robustness—by ensuring the response is highly evidence-based, structured for quick adjudication, and meets the stringent standards of top-tier academic publishing.
