This guide equips researchers with advanced strategies to anticipate and neutralize the highly specialized objections raised by environmental and resource economists. It covers core methodological pitfalls such as spatial confounding, hypothetical bias, leakage effects, sorting issues, and welfare overreach. By structuring the paper preemptively, authors can significantly increase robustness and dramatically improve the likelihood of successful publication.

This comprehensive guide details the rigorous identification and argumentation strategies required for high-level growth and dynamic macroeconomics research. It covers both empirical tracks (System GMM, IV, DID, RDD, addressing endogeneity) and theoretical tracks (justifying assumptions, proving existence, demonstrating generality). Essential for stress-testing manuscripts for specialized journals.

This comprehensive guide provides advanced methodological strategies for authors submitting to the Journal of Economic Geography (JEG). It addresses critical challenges in establishing causal inference using spatial data, such as spatial autocorrelation, spillover effects (SUTVA violations), and structural elasticity identification. It covers modern techniques for spatial DID, Network Equilibrium Models (NEG), and qualitative case studies, ensuring methodological rigor.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to major revisions on highly selective, cross-disciplinary journals (like JEG). It teaches how to structure a rebuttal letter that successfully addresses conflicting feedback from referees—balancing econometric rigor with regional geographic context—ensuring the core contribution remains intact.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting manuscripts to cross-disciplinary journals (e.g., Economics and Geography). It details how to anticipate and pre-emptively address systematic objections from two distinct scholarly communities, ensuring the paper satisfies both rigorous quantitative methods and deep spatial theory. Use this when your work bridges two fields and needs to survive double-anonymous review.

A comprehensive guide for authors in spatial economics on conducting rigorous robustness checks. It systematically addresses common spatial threats—such as the Modifiable Areal Unit Problem (MAUP), spatial weight matrix sensitivity, and spatial autocorrelation—to ensure published results are scientifically sound and not artifacts of the data definition or model specification. Essential for high-level academic submissions.

A comprehensive guide for authors commissioning or revising a literature survey for the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL). It provides strategies for negotiating the survey's scope with the editor, anticipating critical questions from expert referees (e.g., balance, completeness, framework), and planning for major revision rounds. Essential for high-level academic writing.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for authors revising academic survey papers, particularly in economics (JEL). It details how to triage complex editor and referee feedback—including coverage gaps, balance complaints, structural weaknesses, and accessibility issues. It covers best practices for writing a detailed, point-by-point response letter and ensuring the scholarly integrity of the revised work.

This guide details the unique, editor-driven submission process for the Journal of Economic Perspectives (JEP). It advises authors on managing scope, length, and framing when working with an editorial team, rather than anonymous referees. Key strategies include treating the proposal as a contract, prioritizing accessibility for a broad audience, and negotiating scope early in the process.

This strategy guides the rigorous writing of theoretical economics papers, emulating the standards of a Journal of Economic Theory (JET). It ensures that all assumptions are explicit and load-bearing, results are cleanly stated theorems, and proofs have a visible, expert-verifiable architecture. Use this when submitting a high-level theoretical paper where credibility relies on minimizing assumptions and maximizing procedural transparency for expert review.

A comprehensive guide for authors responding to revise-and-resubmit (R&R) decisions from highly selective journals. It teaches a rigorous strategy for addressing referee concerns regarding proof gaps, assumptions, generality, and exposition, ensuring the response is structured, evidence-based, and highly professional.

A comprehensive guide for authors preparing manuscripts for top-tier academic journals, especially in finance (e.g., The Journal of Finance). It details how to anticipate potential objections from handling editors and expert referees, covering areas like identification credibility, robustness checks, and general interest framing. This tool helps optimize the paper's structure pre-submission to maximize acceptance chances.
