This guide provides a deep dive into the Environmental Science & Technology (ES&T) manuscript review process. It details the stages—from initial editorial desk-screening to expert peer review and final editor decision—allowing authors to stress-test their work *before* submission. Learn how to address common desk-decline grounds regarding significance, novelty, and rigor to maximize your paper's chances of success.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for designing rigorous, falsifiable system evaluations for academic research papers. It details best practices across four critical evidence layers: end-to-end performance, mechanism decomposition, operational cost, and boundary testing. Learn how to ensure workload realism, maintain baseline fairness, structure your experiment matrix, and avoid common pitfalls to meet top-tier systems research standards.

A guide for structuring academic manuscripts that argue their contribution within a broader, comparative, and theory-driven European sociological debate. It helps authors transition from writing a national case study to establishing a portable, contestable claim that advances cross-national theory, focusing on identifying theoretical disagreements and the specific 'move' the research makes.

A framework for transforming empirical findings into portable, testable theoretical arguments, especially for comparative and longitudinal social science research. It guides the user to structure a macro–micro mechanism (e.g., how an institution influences individual choices) and derive cross-level hypotheses, ensuring the argument is generalizable and robust enough for high-level academic publication.

This framework helps researchers rigorously pressure-test their sociological projects to determine if they align with the scope of a major quantitative, comparative journal like the European Sociological Review (ESR). It guides users on moving beyond single-country descriptions by focusing on portable mechanisms, cross-national variation, and longitudinal designs to ensure the work advances social theory.

A comprehensive methodological guide for auditing experimental economic designs. Use this when the causal claim hinges on strict experimental control, addressing issues like incentive compatibility, randomization robustness, and adherence to the no-deception norm. It stress-tests the underlying methodology, verifying identification through rigorous design checks.

A comprehensive guide for ensuring rigorous statistical inference in experimental economics. It covers critical areas such as power justification, determining the correct unit of observation (cluster-robust SEs), handling multiple comparisons, and applying non-parametric tests. This framework helps researchers transition from preliminary findings to statistically robust, publishable conclusions.

A structured guide on translating behavioral or game-theoretic arguments into pre-specified, quantitative, and testable hypotheses for Experimental Economics (ExpEcon) manuscripts. This methodology emphasizes moving beyond informal intuition by defining the experimental game, deriving benchmark predictions, layering competing behavioral accounts, and generating comparative-statics hypotheses that treatments must adjudicate. It is essential for manuscripts aiming to robustly test theory through design.

This guide helps researchers determine the most appropriate academic venue for their responsible AI work. It provides detailed criteria and rigorous testing methods (like the Delete-the-equity test) to assess whether fairness, accountability, or transparency is a primary, core contribution, guiding authors away from merely 'bolted-on' ethical framing.

A comprehensive methodology for designing scientific and reproducible storage evaluations, particularly for high-stakes submissions. This guide covers controlling device state (aging, preconditioning, TRIM), selecting credible workloads (fio, YCSB), matching metrics (P99.9 latency, bytes-written) to claims, and rigorously testing durability and crash consistency on real hardware.

This skill provides a deep dive into the rigorous multi-stage review process for scientific manuscripts, particularly in field crops. It details editor scope screening, the single-anonymized expert review, and the specific criteria required (e.g., multi-environment data, statistical rigor, general relevance) to prevent desk rejection. Use this knowledge before submission to stress-test your manuscript, anticipate reviewer objections, and structure your findings for maximum scientific impact.

This skill helps researchers pressure-test their agronomy or crop-science project against the strict criteria of specialized journals, such as FCR (Field Crops Research). It guides users to ensure their work is field-based, multi-season/multi-environment, focuses on true field crops, and holds general scientific significance, preventing premature rejection.
