This guide outlines the rigorous, step-by-step process for constructing a robust sociological theory. It ensures academic rigor by requiring the explicit definition of concepts (including extension and distinction), stating underlying assumptions, specifying the social mechanisms that drive relationships, and deriving internally consistent theoretical propositions. It is essential for transforming raw ideas into a structured, defensible academic manuscript.

This guide helps researchers determine if their academic idea constitutes a genuine theoretical problem suitable for a specialized theory journal, rather than an empirical study or a simple literature review. It screens for conceptual advances, teaching users to distinguish between mere topics, data-driven findings, and deep theoretical gaps. Use this when you have an intuition or critique but are unsure of the theoretical depth or appropriate academic venue.

This router guides the entire lifecycle of a Sociological Theory (ST) manuscript, from initial topic selection to final submission and revision. It does not replace specialized skills but directs the user to the correct next step, ensuring the conceptual advance is properly framed, argued, and polished for high-level academic journals. Essential for structuring complex theoretical contributions.

This skill guides users on transforming a sociological manuscript from a descriptive literature review into a sustained, argumentative theoretical piece. It ensures the writing follows rigorous academic standards, adheres to the ASA Style Guide, respects strict length caps (including citations and references), and shifts the focus from summarizing findings to advancing novel theoretical propositions.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to SODA (ACM-SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms). It clarifies the rules for including computational evidence, distinguishing between proofs relying on computation, supporting implementations, and full experimental contributions. It emphasizes using verifiable certificates and structuring the submission for rigorous, independent review.

A comprehensive guide to structuring and drafting rebuttal responses for top-tier academic conferences like SODA. This process teaches authors how to efficiently address referee concerns within a strict time limit, distinguishing between genuine flaws and simple misreadings. It emphasizes evidence anchoring, maintaining anonymity, and adhering to strict submission rules to maximize impact during the short response window.

A comprehensive guide for authors transitioning an accepted paper from a full draft to the strict, camera-ready proceedings format required by major conferences like SODA. It covers critical steps such as content compression, de-anonymization (restoring author metadata), adhering to SIAM formatting rules, and establishing proper citation hygiene across multiple versions (proceedings, arXiv, journal).

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting theoretical computer science papers to SODA. It clarifies the distinction between SODA (theory-led) and ALENEX (experiment-led), advising on when and how to incorporate numerical evidence. The protocol details best practices for honest numerics, including instance generation discipline, claim-class labeling (illustration, evidence, motivation), and proper submission routing to ensure academic rigor.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for positioning theoretical algorithms research in top-tier venues like SODA. It details how to conduct a rigorous "related work" review, covering bound lineages across conference proceedings, journal publications, and arXiv preprints. Learn best practices for citing dual-version results, managing priority claims, and writing scholarly prose to establish your result's state-of-the-art status.

This skill provides a comprehensive framework for ensuring the mathematical verifiability of advanced algorithms papers (like those submitted to SODA). It guides authors to establish a complete, checkable argument, documenting every claim, explicit model assumption, constant status, and providing machine-checkable steps. It moves beyond simple claims of accuracy to mandate full, reproducible proof structures.

This guide details the rigorous, multi-stage academic review process for submissions to top-tier conferences like SODA (Symposium on Discrete Algorithms). It covers the entire lifecycle, from initial submission and abstract assignment to deep technical refereeing, author rebuttal phases, and final PC decision-making. It provides actionable advice on writing style, addressing reviewer comments, and improving borderline papers.

A comprehensive guide for authors preparing and auditing submissions for SODA (ACM-SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms). Covers critical guidelines including the no-page-limit full version requirement, strict formatting rules (11pt, single column), lightweight double-blind rules, HotCRP mechanics, and an hour-by-hour checklist for the final submission window.
