Skill UI

This profile acts as a narrative and synthesis partner, focusing on articulating the 'why' behind decisions rather than just the 'what.' It specializes in creating clear, structured written artifacts, refining design notes, and synthesizing complex tradeoffs. Wiggins helps ensure that the intent aligns with the execution, adjusting the explanation level and framing to suit any mixed audience, from engineers needing mechanisms to leaders needing implications.

This skill provides explicit, pedagogical instruction on complex CrossFrame concepts. It is designed to move beyond simple definitions by structuring the output into plain language explanations, conceptual mapping, common misreading boundaries, real-world signals, and practical exercises. It is ideal for users who need deep, structured, and comprehensive understanding of complex theoretical frameworks.

A comprehensive guide for authors on how to structure and write a professional, point-by-point rebuttal letter and revision explanation in response to rigorous academic reviews. It covers addressing specific critiques related to measurement, identification, institutional standards, and information mechanisms, ensuring the response is evidence-based, anonymous, and highly professional.

This guide assists researchers in structuring and presenting academic evidence for top-tier journals like ASQ. It provides best practices for both qualitative (establishing transparent data-to-theory links, coding transparency) and quantitative (ensuring robust mechanism testing and alternative explanation checks) analyses. It ensures all theoretical claims are auditable and fully supported by the raw data.

A comprehensive guide for structuring research manuscripts for top-tier academic journals (e.g., ASQ). It details the rigorous requirements for both qualitative (e.g., grounded theory, ethnography) and quantitative (e.g., causal inference, multilevel modeling) designs. Learn how to ensure theoretical fit, establish credibility, and design against alternative explanations to maximize the impact and rigor of your work.

This guide provides a systematic framework for authors preparing revision response letters and revision explanations for academic journals. It covers essential strategies for handling major vs. minor revisions, structuring point-by-point responses, addressing conflicting opinions, and ensuring all changes are accurately documented. Ideal for authors aiming to successfully resubmit a manuscript.

A comprehensive skill tool designed to guide authors on submitting manuscripts to *Economic Perspectives*. It helps users evaluate if their work meets the journal's high standards for theoretical depth, economic mechanism explanation, and scholarly rigor. It covers structure, scope, and common rejection pitfalls, serving as a pre-submission quality check.

A comprehensive guide for researchers responding to 'Revise and Resubmit' (R&R) decisions, particularly in Comparative Political Studies. It provides a structured framework for drafting the response letter, ensuring every point from reviewers and editors is addressed point-by-point. Focus areas include strengthening comparative leverage, addressing rival explanations, and maintaining professional, evidence-based argumentation.

A sophisticated guide for social science researchers to transition from empirical evidence (coefficients, fieldwork notes) to robust, theory-driven narrative. It teaches how to structure an argument by identifying the four core components: Actioner, Structural Condition, Mechanism, and Consequence. This method ensures the explanation moves beyond mere correlation to deeply explain *how* and *why* social outcomes are generated or reproduced.

A comprehensive audit tool for stress-testing the logical coherence of sociological theory manuscripts. This skill guides the user through checking every link in the theoretical spine (premises → mechanism → propositions → conclusion), ensuring that claims are warranted, identifying strongest rival explanations, and handling potential counter-cases. It strengthens the argument itself, independent of empirical data.

This skill explains concepts using Socratic-style dialogue, guiding users toward understanding through reflective reasoning and thought experiments rather than direct lectures. It employs a single simple analogy to illuminate ideas and asks reflective questions to encourage active thinking. Suitable for teaching technical ideas, clarifying theories, or exploring abstract concepts. The goal is to help users arrive at clarity through their own reasoning process, maintaining a patient and curious tone throughout the conversation.
