A comprehensive guide to advanced econometric identification strategies required for high-stakes public finance research. Covers techniques like Regression Discontinuity Design (RDD), Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Bunching, and Instrumental Variables (IV). It stresses the need to defend policy-induced discontinuities and manage threats of endogeneity, improving the credibility of empirical claims.

Guides authors on how to strategically position their research within specialized academic fields, particularly public economics. Instead of writing a standalone survey, this method teaches how to define a precise "delta" (improvement) relative to established "frontier" literature (e.g., optimal taxation, social insurance). It focuses on defining the improvement in identification or welfare reach, which is crucial for high-level academic publication.

A rigorous methodological framework for identifying core risk and uncertainty parameters in academic research. This guide details how to design experiments or structural models to explicitly separate confounds (e.g., utility curvature vs. probability weighting, preferences vs. beliefs) and ensure that the measured parameter is genuinely identified, thereby enhancing the scientific rigor of behavioral finance and econometrics studies.

A rigorous guide for advanced spatial econometrics, designed to stress-test causal claims in urban and spatial economics papers. It provides a framework to defend against the three critical spatial confounds: selection/sorting, spatial spillovers (SUTVA failure), and spatial autocorrelation. Essential for publishing high-impact work in journals like JUE.

This guide provides a comprehensive strategy for crafting high-impact academic manuscripts, specifically addressing the predictable and rigorous critiques of top-tier journals. It teaches authors how to pre-emptively answer common spatial econometric, identification, and theoretical objections (e.g., spatial sorting, spillovers, scale issues) directly within the text, ensuring the paper is robust and credible before submission.

This skill acts as a comprehensive router for manuscripts targeting the Journal of Urban Economics (JUE). It diagnoses the current stage of research—from initial topic selection and spatial identification to robustness testing, writing, and rebuttal. It ensures the paper addresses the core spatial-economic requirements necessary for high-impact urban economics publications, guiding researchers through the entire scholarly lifecycle.

A comprehensive guide for advanced empirical research in open economies. It outlines best practices for establishing causal inference by anchoring identification strategies in external or institutional shocks (e.g., tariffs, trade agreements, exchange rate reforms). The guide emphasizes modern critiques of standard methods like shift-share and gravity models, providing detailed protocols for DID, Bartik decomposition, and IV estimation to meet top-tier academic journal standards.

This advanced analytical skill focuses on rigorously identifying and testing the specific transmission channels through which external shocks affect an economy. Essential for high-impact international economics research, it moves beyond descriptive mechanism narratives by focusing on testable proxies across trade, investment, finance, and expectation channels. It requires advanced econometrics (e.g., mediation analysis, sample splitting) and careful identification strategy to ensure causal claims are robust.

This skill helps authors assess the suitability of their quantitative marketing, econometrics, or industrial organization (IO) paper for the Marketing Science journal. It outlines the journal's high standards, focusing on rigorous formal contributions, credible identification, and appropriate structural framing. Use this tool for pre-submission self-checking, understanding the required methodology bar, and deciding on the best academic venue.

This guide outlines the necessary structure and high level of mathematical rigor required for theoretical manuscripts in Mathematical Finance. It covers techniques for establishing precise assumptions (e.g., filtrations, integrability), stating theorems cleanly, and constructing self-contained proofs for results in stochastic control, no-arbitrage pricing, and PDEs. It emphasizes methodological novelty over empirical identification.

A comprehensive guide for executing, evaluating, and reporting the empirical core of MIS Quarterly manuscripts. It covers specialized methods for Behavioral IS (PLS-SEM), Economics of IS (causal identification), Design Science (artifact evaluation), and qualitative studies, ensuring full transparency and replicability for top-tier academic submissions.

A comprehensive guide for structuring and defending the methodology section of an academic manuscript, particularly for MIS Quarterly submissions. It helps researchers choose the appropriate design (Behavioral, Design Science, Economics of IS, Organizational) and addresses critical methodological rigor, such as causal identification, common-method bias, and thorough evaluation planning.
