A comprehensive guide for building robust, testable theoretical frameworks for submissions to the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). It distinguishes between deriving behavioral mechanisms (mediators, processes) and specifying structural/econometric primitives and identification arguments, ensuring the research contribution meets academic rigor.

This guide helps researchers evaluate if a marketing topic meets the high academic standards of top journals like the Journal of Marketing Research (JMR). It provides a dual-bar test, requiring both methodological rigor (e.g., causal identification, experimental design) and substantive contribution (new insights). It also helps distinguish the appropriate venue among major marketing journals (JM, MS, JCR).

This guide outlines the rigorous formal requirements for econometric papers, focusing on achieving the level of mathematical rigor expected by top academic journals. It covers proving identification, verifying primitive assumptions, constructing asymptotic derivations (consistency, rate, distribution), and structuring proofs for maximum verifiability in causal inference and time series analysis.

This guide provides comprehensive standards for establishing credible causal claims in labor economics research, specifically tailored to the rigor of journals like JOLE. It covers advanced econometric techniques (DID, RDD, IV, RCT, etc.) and outlines necessary robustness checks, bias corrections, and methodological defenses to ensure research findings are statistically sound and replicable.

This guide details how to position a manuscript against existing academic literature, specifically for journals like the Journal of Labor Economics (JOLE). It emphasizes moving beyond general literature reviews to making a precise 'stake'—clearly identifying the 2-3 closest papers, stating the gap they left open, and precisely articulating how your work adds novel identification, data, or mechanisms. It also details specific citation mechanics (Chicago author-date, chronological/alphabetical order).

This guide provides a rigorous structural and strategic framework for responding to a 'Revise and Resubmit' (R&R) decision, specifically tailored for the Journal of Labor Economics (JOLE). It emphasizes drafting concise, point-by-point rebuttals, addressing complex identification challenges with robust diagnostics, reconciling conflicting referee demands, and strictly adhering to the journal's word economy and single-blind submission rules. It is a critical tool for refining advanced academic manuscripts.

A comprehensive guide detailing the specific review standards and submission requirements for the Journal of Labor Economics (JOLE). This resource covers the single-blind review protocol, the non-refundable submission fee structure, and the expectations of labor-focused referees, emphasizing credible identification, disciplined data work, and replicability.

This guide details the rigorous peer-review process for the Journal of Operations Management (JOM). It covers the department-routed structure, the specific rules of asymmetric double-anonymous review, and the critical method checks (sampling, measurement, identification) required for empirical submissions. It helps authors understand how to interpret complex decision letters and improve their manuscript quality.

A comprehensive guide for defending the methodological rigor of academic manuscripts, particularly for top-tier journals. It covers advanced causal identification techniques (DID, IV, RDD) for quantitative work, robust experimental design, and detailed strategies for process tracing and case selection in qualitative research. The core focus is ensuring the design is highly reproducible and clearly addresses potential confounding variables and rival explanations.

This skill serves as a comprehensive pre-submission self-check for academic papers targeting top-tier journals like the Journal of Accounting and Economics (JAE). It guides authors on whether their manuscript adequately establishes an economic mechanism, ensures rigorous identification for causal claims, adheres to the required theoretical framing, and meets the journal's specific structural and methodological standards.

This skill serves as a comprehensive fit and venue-selection tool for submitting accounting manuscripts to the Journal of Accounting Research (JAR). It guides authors through evaluating the paper's empirical rigor, identification strategy, economic framing, and adherence to JAR's high academic standards. Use it when targeting JAR or determining if the research belongs in a top-tier academic accounting venue.

This comprehensive skill guides authors through the rigorous process of assessing whether a corporate finance manuscript is suitable for the Journal of Corporate Finance (JCF) or related elite venues. It covers topic scope (governance, M&A, capital structure), methodological requirements (causal identification, endogeneity), structural best practices, and provides a detailed, step-by-step checklist for pre-submission self-review and alternative venue routing.
