This guide helps authors structure and write a highly persuasive cover letter for advanced materials submissions. Its purpose is to proactively convince the journal editor that the work represents a genuine, broad-impact scientific advance, rather than just incremental optimization. It focuses on arguing the impact case, naming specific beneficiary communities, and structuring the argument for maximum editorial visibility.

This guide helps authors tailor their manuscript to fit the specific page budget of Advanced Materials, whether it is classified as a Communication or a full Research Article. It details how to manage the length budget by coordinating text and visual display items (figures, tables) against the journal's strict typesetting page limits, ensuring the core scientific evidence remains intact while removing padding and secondary data.

This guide provides a rigorous framework for assessing whether materials research possesses the necessary 'genuine advance' and 'broad impact' to be published in premier journals like Advanced Materials. It helps researchers pre-screen their work, determining if the novelty is fundamental (new mechanism/material) and if the findings resonate with neighboring scientific communities, thus avoiding rejection due to scope mismatch.

This comprehensive preflight checklist guides authors through the final steps before submitting an Advanced Materials manuscript to Wiley. It verifies critical aspects including article type adherence, figure resolution, separate Supporting Information handling, metadata completion (ORCID, funding), and overall manuscript integrity. Use this tool as the last gate check to ensure the submission meets all journal requirements and minimizes desk rejection risks.

This skill acts as a comprehensive workflow router for writing Advanced Materials (Adv. Mater.) manuscripts. It guides authors through the entire publishing lifecycle—from initial scope assessment to final submission and revision. It helps diagnose bottlenecks related to scientific advance, characterization strength, figure quality, and adherence to journal format, ensuring the manuscript is robust and ready for publication.

This guide provides rigorous standards for polishing scientific prose for high-impact materials journals. It focuses on improving narrative flow by emphasizing the structure-property-function argument, enforcing concision, standardizing materials nomenclature and units (SI), and eliminating hype-word inflation. Ideal for authors needing to transition a raw scientific draft into a polished, publishable manuscript.

This guide helps researchers determine if their applied microeconomics work meets the rigorous standards of the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics (AEJ: Applied). It serves as a pre-submission checklist, detailing the required depth of causal identification (e.g., RCTs, DiD, IV), methodological robustness, expected manuscript structure, and avoiding common desk-reject pitfalls. Essential for high-quality academic writing.

This skill guides authors through the rigorous requirements of American Economic Journal: Economic Policy. It helps evaluate whether an applied economics manuscript meets the journal's high bar, focusing specifically on the joint criteria of sound causal identification (DiD, IV, RDD) and clear, impactful policy relevance. Use it to re-frame arguments and check against best practices for policy evaluation.

This skill serves as a comprehensive guide for authors targeting top-tier macroeconomics journals, such as the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics. It analyzes a manuscript's fit, required methodology (e.g., DSGE, HANK, empirical identification), structural requirements, and common pitfalls (desk-reject heuristics). It is essential for researchers needing to refine their academic research and framing to meet rigorous journal standards.

This skill is a comprehensive guide for authors preparing microeconomic theory, game theory, or theoretical IO manuscripts for submission to the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics. It analyzes journal fit, required theoretical rigor, methodological standards, house style, and potential pitfalls (desk-reject heuristics), helping authors refine their work before formal submission.

This guide provides a rigorous framework for defending causal identification claims in empirical microeconomics, tailored for top-tier journals like AEJ: Applied. It covers modern techniques and anti-patterns for RCTs, Difference-in-Differences (DiD), Regression Discontinuity (RDD), and Instrumental Variables (IV), ensuring the mapping from variation to the causal estimand is explicit, defensible, and falsifiable.

A comprehensive guide for academic researchers, detailing how to precisely define and position the marginal contribution of an economic manuscript (especially for top journals like AEJ: Applied). It teaches techniques like the 'three-paper test' and defining an 'honest delta,' ensuring the contribution is framed by identification and mechanism, rather than just topic or setting.
