A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to top systems conferences (e.g., SenSys, MobiCom). It details how to structure the Related Work section by sweeping multiple literature lanes (IoT, embedded AI, networking), proving citation venues, and most importantly, distinguishing your novel mechanism from the single nearest prior system with concrete, measurable differences. Essential for academic publication rigor.

This comprehensive guide outlines the strict criteria for submitting a paper to the SenSys conference after the 2026 merger. It clarifies that the core contribution must be a built, measured sensing or embedded system, demonstrating value based on physical resources like energy, memory, and latency on real hardware, rather than being a pure algorithm or networking mechanism.

A comprehensive guide detailing the required structure and technical rigor for writing papers in sensing and embedded systems (SenSys). It mandates replacing vague adjectives with concrete, measured metrics (e.g., energy in joules, latency in milliseconds) and structuring the argument around a clear 'pain $\to$ gap $\to$ mechanism $\to$ measured behavior' arc on the first page. Essential for academic researchers and engineers.

A detailed guide modeling the complex academic review machinery, using SIGIR as a primary example. It covers everything from per-track anonymity regimes and PC-member nomination duties to the critical scoring criteria: evaluating validity, fairness of comparison, and statistical rigor. Essential reading for authors preparing high-stakes research submissions.

This guide details how to construct the critical real-data section of a sociological methods paper. It emphasizes that the illustration must demonstrate that the proposed method substantively changes a conclusion compared to the standard/incumbent approach, thereby proving the method's necessity and theoretical stake.

A guide for articulating and bounding a methodological contribution in social science research. It teaches authors how to explicitly state the problem, the failing incumbent method, the mechanism of the fix, and the associated costs, ensuring the claim is proportional, specific, and actionable rather than overly general.

A comprehensive guide for drafting the critical author response (rebuttal) for the SoCC conference. Since there is no major revision round, this single, high-stakes turn must persuasively address concerns from both systems and data/measurement reviewers. It emphasizes correcting factual errors, supplying missing numbers (like tail latency and cost), and maintaining strict dual anonymity.

This comprehensive guide outlines best practices for achieving high levels of scientific reproducibility in systems papers, especially for cloud measurement studies. It teaches authors how to map every claim in their paper to verifiable evidence, detailing the entire testbed setup, reproducing tail latency and costs accurately, and maintaining consistency between reported numbers and artifacts.

A comprehensive model detailing the rigorous evaluation process for submissions to STOC (Symposium on Theory of Computing). It covers the committee structure, the roles of program committee members and external subreviewers, the key evaluation axes (Correctness, Significance, Breadth, Novelty), the typical timeline, and strategic advice for authors on maximizing their leverage throughout the double-blind review process.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting technical papers, detailing methods to ensure that all reported claims, figures, and benchmark numbers can be independently regenerated. This involves creating VM-ready, self-contained artifacts, mapping every claim to a specific script, and defining clear reproducibility levels (Turnkey, Scripted) to satisfy conference requirements.

This comprehensive guide outlines the rigorous, multi-step process required for authors to finalize and submit their accepted papers for VLDB proceedings. It covers essential technical compliance points, including using the correct volume template, ensuring PDF/A compliance with embedded fonts, adhering to figure legibility rules, and detailing the permanent storage of research artifacts (DOI-backed). It also outlines the associated conference presentation obligations.

A comprehensive guide for authors submitting to World Development (WD) and similar cross-disciplinary journals. It helps authors anticipate and proactively address the diverse and often conflicting objections from double-anonymized, multidisciplinary reviewers (e.g., methodologists vs. contextualists). The strategy covers strengthening methodology, embedding clear development contributions, and structuring the argument to minimize rejection risk.
