Skill UI

This skill guides researchers on whether a proposed research topic is suitable for a high-level synthesis journal (like Psychological Bulletin). It assesses the existing literature's depth, general academic significance, and whether the contribution is synthesizing prior findings. It determines the most appropriate synthesis methodology—such as meta-analysis, systematic review, or qualitative meta-synthesis—by comparing the nature of the pooled data.

This tool serves as an essential orchestrator for crafting and submitting research syntheses (such as meta-analyses and systematic reviews) for Psychological Bulletin. It guides users through the entire rigorous research lifecycle—from initial topic selection and literature searching (PRISMA) to data coding, meta-analysis, theoretical integration, and final manuscript preparation. It ensures that the project is correctly framed as a synthesis of existing work, not a primary study.

This guide provides a comprehensive framework for screening research topics to ensure they meet the high theoretical standards of major academic journals. It teaches researchers how to differentiate between valuable empirical data and genuinely generalizable theoretical mechanisms, helping to scope the problem, identify necessary theoretical tension, and formalize the proposed model. Use this when unsure if a rich empirical finding qualifies as a theory-driven review paper.

This comprehensive guide acts as a router for writing a theoretical or formal-model manuscript for a Psychological Review submission. It guides the user through the entire lifecycle, from initial topic selection and theory construction to argument development, boundary setting, and final submission readiness. It does not replace specialized skills but directs the user to the correct subsequent step.

This skill guides researchers through the rigorous process of evaluating if their public administration project meets the standards of high-impact academic journals like the Public Administration Review (PAR). It ensures the work not only advances scholarly theory but also delivers actionable, credible 'evidence for practice' for real-world public managers and policymakers. Essential for refining scope and target venue.

This tool serves as an orchestrator for developing Public Administration Review (PAR) manuscripts. It guides researchers through the entire writing lifecycle—from initial topic selection and literature positioning to theory building, data analysis, and final submission/rebuttal. It helps users determine the most appropriate article type (e.g., Scholarly Take, Conceptualizing PA) and maps the necessary steps to ensure the work bridges both academic theory and practical public management relevance.

This guide helps researchers determine if their academic project is best suited for Quantitative Economics (QE) among top economic journals. It provides a structured fit test, guiding users to sharpen the substantive economic question and confirm that the quantitative method is necessary—not merely decorative—to answer it. It helps situate research by comparing QE against pure theory and method-first outlets.

This tool guides researchers through pressure-testing their economic research ideas against the standards of top-tier, general-interest journals (like QJE). It helps diagnose whether a study's 'big idea' and broad implications are compelling enough, ensuring the focus is on the general lesson rather than just the technical method or narrow finding. Ideal for structuring academic arguments and improving manuscript scope.

This guide helps researchers determine if their project's core contribution is genuinely centered on recommender systems. It provides a structured fit test to route the work to the most appropriate top-tier venue (RecSys, SIGIR, KDD, etc.) and select the correct conference track before starting the writing process.

This guide helps researchers test whether their economic research question aligns with the specialized scope of top-tier journals, particularly those focusing on dynamic and quantitative mechanisms (like RED). It provides a structured methodology, including fit tests and scoring dimensions (Dynamics, Model, Discipline, Audience), to ensure the core contribution is genuinely dynamic and methodologically rigorous.

This guide assists researchers in scoping their academic questions to ensure alignment with specialized journals like Research Policy. It provides detailed criteria for determining if a study focuses on the emergence, diffusion, or governance of innovation systems, rather than purely economic or strategy-focused outcomes. Use it to frame your work to speak directly to innovation scholars and policymakers.

A comprehensive guide for applied economics researchers to determine the optimal academic venue for their work. It helps users assess whether their contribution is a clean causal estimate, a measurement advance, or a pure method, ensuring the research question is framed appropriately for specific journals like REStat, AER, or AEJ:Applied.
