A comprehensive guide for authors responding to major revisions on highly selective, cross-disciplinary journals (like JEG). It teaches how to structure a rebuttal letter that successfully addresses conflicting feedback from referees—balancing econometric rigor with regional geographic context—ensuring the core contribution remains intact.

This guide details the specific formatting and content rules for creating an "Internet Appendix" when submitting academic manuscripts to The Journal of Finance (JF). It advises authors on separating extensive proofs, robustness checks, and detailed data construction from the main text to ensure the core paper remains self-contained and adheres to strict page limits, while still providing necessary depth for reviewers.

A comprehensive guide for empirical finance researchers on structuring robustness checks and handling multiple testing concerns for top-tier journals like The Journal of Finance. It teaches how to distinguish load-bearing checks for the main text versus exhaustive analyses relegated to the Internet Appendix, ensuring methodological rigor and maximizing impact.

This guide details how to properly structure an Internet Appendix for academic manuscripts, particularly tailored for the Journal of Financial Economics (JFE). It instructs authors on separating exhaustive proofs, secondary robustness tests, detailed derivations, and supplementary results from the main body text. Mastering this skill ensures the manuscript maintains high scientific rigor while remaining highly readable and adhering to specific journal formatting standards.

A comprehensive guide for authors writing empirical papers (especially in finance/economics). It teaches the critical skill of separating load-bearing claims (must be in the main text) from exhaustive supporting evidence (best placed in the Internet Appendix). It details how to build a fully reproducible package, including data lineage, codebooks, and documenting proprietary data access paths.

Pre-submission checklist for the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis (JFQA) via Editorial Manager: verifies text-searchable PDF, 8.5x11/1-inch/12-pt Times New Roman double-spaced formatting, double-anonymous anonymization, ≤100-word abstract, $350 fee, prior-rejection disclosure, and code-sharing exception timing. Does not draft content.

This guide helps researchers structure the institutional background section of advanced finance manuscripts. It emphasizes moving beyond general descriptions to precisely articulate regulatory rules, market segmentation, and ownership structures. The goal is to transform descriptive text into clear evidence for identifying exogeneity and analyzing policy shocks in empirical studies.

This comprehensive framework guides financial researchers in structuring high-quality literature reviews for academic manuscripts. It moves beyond mere citation listing by enforcing a three-part narrative structure: tracing the global theoretical and mechanistic origins, contextualizing the discussion within local Chinese institutional settings, and precisely defining the novel contribution (the research gap). Mastering this process ensures a deep, scholarly dialogue between international theory and local empirical evidence.

This comprehensive guide helps academics transform raw financial data observations into rigorous and high-impact research questions suitable for top-tier finance journals. It teaches a structured methodology involving anchoring the core financial mechanism, integrating specific institutional contexts within China, and defining a clear incremental academic contribution.

A guide for developing robust, theory-driven hypotheses for top-tier international business journals (e.g., JIBS). It focuses on specifying cross-level logic (country/culture $\rightarrow$ firm/individual), identifying boundary conditions, and grounding arguments in established IB theoretical traditions. It teaches how to move beyond merely running data in a foreign context to making the international environment itself a causal variable.

A comprehensive guide for authors on positioning their research manuscript within established academic conversations. It teaches how to move beyond merely identifying a 'gap in the literature' or applying theory to a 'new context,' ensuring the contribution is substantively important, novel, and consequential for the field and practitioners.

This guide provides detailed instructions on structuring the online appendix for high-impact academic manuscripts. It emphasizes the critical balance between maintaining a self-contained, readable main text and providing comprehensive, verifiable supporting material. Learn how to properly place derivations, robustness checks, and data construction details to enhance the scientific rigor and credibility of your research.
